I simply woke up at 4 AM because I really wanted to purchase an item they had posted on their Instagram page. When I got there, I saw it was available in the purchase section and waited patiently until opening time. However, just five minutes before opening, they removed everything they had previously posted as the “best items.”
When the employee came to the door, I politely said: “It’s a shame you removed the Dyson — I woke up at 4 AM today just to get it.” At that point, I was still understanding of the situation, assuming they might restock it later.
But the employee responded, very bluntly: “This is the game. If you want to buy something when you want it, there are many ways to do so today — go to Costco, Amazon, or Target.”
Is that any way for an employee to speak to a customer? One of the rudest interactions I’ve ever experienced. This entire situation was absurd, and honestly, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
In addition, they clearly only seem to favor Spanish-speaking customers. If you say something in another language, they pretend not to hear, and then shamelessly ask you to repeat yourself moments later.
In the end, I stood in line for 4 hours, and none of the items they had posted were available. If this is truly “the game,” then they should at least be fair and post things accurately. I ended up wasting 6 hours for absolutely nothing.

Read moreGolden Penny in Lowell is taking unfair advantage of customers. They buy pallets from B-Stock just like any other liquidation store — including Loco Hot Deal in Rhode Island — but unlike others, they cherry-pick the good products (which they bought for only $3 to $7 on B-Stock) and resell them at 50% or more of the retail price. Meanwhile, the bins are filled with broken, defective, or worthless items. They only get away with this because they’re currently one of the only stores of this kind in Massachusetts. But that won’t last long — a new store is coming soon, with fair prices and real respect for customers. To make things worse, their customer service is terrible. The staff treats people rudely, as if they’re doing you a favor. Disappointing...
Read moreIf I could give this store more than 5 stars, I would. The store is clean, and everyone is friendly. They have a wide variety of items for sale, catering to all genders, ages, and even pets. One thing you have to know is that you need to hunt for good deals! I found the following night table for just $15 bucks. On Amazon, the same table was $79. Definitely a steal!!
On top of the great deals, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you find what you need. They’re knowledgeable, approachable, and truly make the shopping experience enjoyable. Whether you’re shopping for yourself, your home, or looking for unique gifts, this place has it all. I’ll definitely be coming...
