In late May early June of 2025, I purchased a K-Tip install. The process was thorough. The stylist, who I found on instagram @theesilkartist, had instructions to book a virtual consultation which allowed us to discuss my scalp condition, allergies, hair regime, styles I tend to wear my hair, and etc.
Afterwards I was able to book my appointment through her website, which was easy to navigate and full of important details (READ EVERYTHING YALL!!).
When it came time for my appointment, Denia, the stylist, examined my hair a bit more and gave me additional insight and tips on what would and would not work for my hair which was much appreciated.
The install of the K-tips took about 4-5 hours due to how thick and tailored I wanted my hair.
I had the install for about 4.5 months. I did not expereince abnormal shedding, I did not lose any extensions, and the hair washed, dried, and styled likely my own hair.
I sadly live in a different state and was unable to receive routine maintenance services with DC Hair Loft. However, Denia provided ample information and tools that I could use until I was able to book her services.
I was able to wear my hair up in a high pointy tail, low buns, half up and down updo, two braids, and of course out straight or with curls.
I enjoyed the look and appearance of the hair used. Received a multitude of compliments.
Most important was the condition of my hair after removing the extensions!! My hair was in a better state than it was before the extensions!!! Sounds hard to believe but I paid attention to the details Denia shared with me, I didnāt use too much heat and I went to her salon at least once a month.
When Denia took the extensions out (due to so much growth) I saw how my natural curls quickly recoiled and even found my hair having more curl definition, thickness, and still healthy.
I highly recommend getting luxuriously extensions from this salon and from this stylist!!!!!
The only thing to caution is if you are maintain the hair yourself LISTEN to the stylist DENIA she will not...

I left my name and number and received texts instead. I texted them back asking if phone calls was not something they did. The question was deflected and they literally refused to call me back however I still tried to give Grace. So I text my questions instead. Being that my appointment wouldāve been $375 plus I expected a lot better Customer service. That goes without saying itās literally a business. One of the questions I had were if the owner would be the one doing my hair because I seen in one of the reviews that her assistant had did another clients hair for the majority of the Service and her response was that the assistant was trained by master professionals or something like that. Which does not matter because when you pay for something You want the stylist that you booked. Either way a whole 24+ hours later I still did not get a response. This is exactly why I prefer phone calls over text because it would have avoided this issue, however they are so unprofessional itās embarrassing. Anyway, I will take my business somewhere else. Thereās no way in hell I would pay that amount of money and I canāt even get someone to call me back or answer a text. Please consider this before booking.

But like I said had I received a phone call when you were available this could have been avoided, that was in your control. Consider getting a an actual assistant so that they can take phone calls. I can understand stylists using assistants when they're trying to get multiple clients in and out quickly, but Denia wasn't servicing any other clients while her assistant worked on me; she just walked around the studio and occasionally provided feedback. An experience like this would normally cost a fraction of the price I paid.
Her assistant was very sweet, but just not experienced enough. It took her way too long to wash and detangle my hair, which was detangled before I arrived. After blow drying, my hair still had knots and didn't lay flat as it normally does.
When I finally sat in front of Denia for the silk press hours later, I will say she did an amazing job. My roots and edges were laid perfectly - a flawless silk press. I just expected this to be a 1:1 experience, or would've at least appreciated it being marketed for...
