I was not off to a good start in the beginning of January 2017. I went through a bad breakup and my company went through a major transition to another company. I started to work from home and it’s been hard to get out of bed. I remember the days staring at the ceiling wondering where my energy went while trying to force myself out of bed. Before you know it, Orange Theory Fitness, my favorite place, started to pop up everywhere close to home. So, I started going to the ones closer to home instead of my house studio in Audubon.
It was only a matter of time before I began to notice that it was hard to keep up with my motivation, energy, and accountability. I ended up to a point where I was not earning any splat points and doing my best as I have done in the past. I took different classes, tried different coaches, and even bought a new heart rate monitor, but nothing worked. I was wondering how worse it was going to get until I decided to start all over again by going to my home studio in Audubon.
I went back to where it all started and that’s with head coach Ovi. All the trainers are great, but Ovi is the man. He is a BEAST and a FORCE to be reckoned with. All the trainers are awesome. They have different styles. Don’t get me wrong. But, head coach Ovi is different. He is like your own personal trainer in every class and is always giving you encouragement, strategy, guidance, positive, and support from start to finish. He sets a splat point’s goal for every class. He will give you high five’s while you are doing your squats so you do more. He always checks on your form and reminds you that quality is more than quantity. He calls your name out frequently and pushes you to do your very best. Thanks to head coach Ovi, I was back on track and better off than where I originally started. I enjoy his music list and head coach Ovi will always teach you something important in his class, like technique, another alternative to an exercise, and will make sure you take no shortcuts. I heart this place. I am so glad I joined and have never regretted it for a moment. I adore all the staff and coaches. All the locations have a different twist and logistics about them. Head coach Ovi is so great that he is able to coach his classes to earn over 700 splat points and that’s for about twenty people!!! NO CLASS I HAVE TAKEN HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT OR GO THAT FAR!!! So, trust what I say. Head coach Ovi is a STAR!!! Let me be honest too and say that the competition game he has going on with Kyle about splat point goals doesn’t hurt. Ovi is a corporate style coach who has a lot of passion and strives to do the very best. I am afraid to lose him but I won’t let myself think that far. I enjoying living in this moment and every chance I can get to take his classes.
The studio manager, Michele is awesome and always greets you with a smile. It is great taking a class and realizing the owners (lovely husband-George and wife-Michele) are also taking the class with you. Orange Theory Fitness in Audubon is a family and a community jewel. I tried many locations in PA, NJ, and NY. Nothing compares or comes close to this Audubon location. Thank you Orange Theory Fitness of Audubon and...
Read moreI decided to give OTF a try after reading reviews, but I was still apprehensive. I wanted an environment where I could feel safe to exercise in my own lane (mentally). I was an athlete in my early life and I enjoy workouts that make me feel like I pushed myself, but injuries affect my output now. OTF definitely hit the mark here. I appreciate that the coaches are super supportive of modifications. Coach Ty gives the best queues during the cardio blocks, it helps me know when to push and how much longer remains in the block. I went from not working out at all to taking classes 2-3 times a week. The intensity of the workout is how much you put into it - classes are usually made up of half cardio and half strength. You can show up and have a detailed hour workout designed for you without putting thought into it. The heart rate monitor really helps me keep myself accountable for my output and I love seeing my end of class metrics. There are many class times throughout the day too, as a mom, that's really helpful. I also like the positive messages within the studio - it's not about losing weight, it's about whatever exercise means to you. *I did wish that OTF would provide the class descriptions on their website, that would have been helpful when deciding to give OTF a...
Read moreAlthough I have not lost weight, I’ve noticed several changes in my body. My abs, arms, and legs are toner. I have increased base, push, and all out inclines compared to when I first started orange theory. I’ve also been able to increase treadmill speed with more ease. In addition, I have increased weights when completing the core exercises. I better understand the movements and the impact the movements have on my body because coach Ty is very clear, and efficient in explaining the exercises. I never have to second guess what he’s explaining. Ultimately I always feel so much better mentally when I leave the gym. Not only does coach Ty guide me every step of the way, but he also pushes me to do better. That gives me the motivation that I need to keep working harder. Aside from all of the exercises and goals orange theory is overall a great environment to work out in. The coaches are the best they are so upbeat and positive. It’s an added bonus working out to great hits! I also Love the fun classes like tornado, 300 mile row, and, capture the flag. I would like to challenge myself and meet the goals expected in each class. I would also like to lose weight.
I look forward to many more classes at orange...
