The Enclave — Local services in Lubbock

I’m not one to leave reviews, but this is hands down the worst apartment complex in the entire region — not just Lubbock, the region.

It’s been almost six months since I moved out, and I still haven’t received a single cent of my security deposit. They sent me a cleaning fee of over $100 within a month of move-out although I had cleaned my apartment top to bottom before turning in my keys. When I asked for the proof of the cleaning or where in the lease it said I had to pay for this standard cleaning, they could not provide any information. I’ve reached out multiple times over the months with phone calls and emails, and Holly, the manager, either completely ignores me or conveniently "forgets" to follow up. It’s beyond frustrating and feels incredibly dishonest — not to mention irritating that I can’t even get my own money back.

Also, while I lived here, there was an additional charge on my rent that could have easily gone unnoticed. When I asked Monique, the other manager about it and they simply said "sorry" and took it off. I have never had an apartment complex try to sneak charges into my bill before and it absolutely unacceptable.

On top of that, a maintenance worker entered my apartment without any warning or notice. No call, no email — just came in unannounced claiming he saw the blinds broken from the window. My blinds were not broken. This was a serious violation of privacy and made me feel extremely unsafe in my own home.

The apartment itself was also filthy and full of mold when I moved in. Doors and cabinets do not close all the way, the deadbolt of my front door barely went into the door frame. Stains on the walls and ceiling everywhere. Clearly, cleanliness and proper maintenance are not priorities for this management.

This place is completely unreliable, and the way tenants are treated is unacceptable. If you’re thinking of moving here — don’t. There are far better, safer, and more professionally managed...

I lived at The Enclave for 3 1/2 years and I loved every minute of it. I wish I could go back. Of all the apartment complexes that I have lived in, this is the only one that I would go back to without thinking twice about it.

Complex: The complex is older than the ones that surround it, but they are kept in great condition by the maintenance staff.

Management: During my time, I saw a management change and never once did I feel as though I was treated badly by any single manager. Whenever you need anything done, the management will immediately put in a request and make sure that they clearly understand what your problem is so that it can get fixed as soon as possible.

Maintenance: Rick, one of the maintenance men, was amazing at his job. I had multiple maintenance requests while I was there (even had a leak in the ceiling above my bathtub), and they always got things fixed within the day. Most of the time, I would go put in a request and they would have it done within the next few hours (if it wasn't an emergency). The leak above my bathtub got fixed within 2 hours and it only took them that much time because they had to go and get some parts from Home Depot or Lowes.

Lived here for a short term lease. Before you move in, take a video of everything because they will try to keep your deposit. I moved in and everything smelled like weed and the fridge smelled like something went bad awhile back and they couldn’t get the smell out. They did replace it. The AC went out and I couldn’t get anyone to fix it so I had to sleep with balcony and windows open. They finally got me a window ac unit which was fine but when it got cold outside, our hot water went out. The maintenance guy was nice but wasn’t able to fix it and it kept breaking and eventually they just stopped working on it. We had to boil our water for baths. Management has charged us for things on our account that just say “Misc” and when we ask they can’t tell us either. Laundry costs like 2.50 to wash and 2.50 to dry. Ended up being like 16 to do all my laundry dry each time. I didn’t get my deposit back even though we deep cleaned the place. I called to ask but they just said they had to clean the carpet even though we left it cleaner than what we received. One of the ladies at the desk is really nice but the other one was kinda grouchy.
