Classic Ace Hardware of Duncan Moore — Local services in Lyman

Very large and well stocked hardware store that is convenient to me when I am in the area frequently. I always go there when pressed for time and need something and do not want to run to the Home Depot, much further away.

While I love the location, the front desk staff, who are the only staff you ever see at the front, have no idea where anything in the store is located. If I ask them about the general direction to galvanized pipe, a hammer, nails/screws, and many other common items, they give me a blank stare and invariably pick up a walky-talky to ask another staff member.

Having them as the first staff you see is likely a mistake since they seem to know nothing about hardware or where it is located in the store. Perhaps this is attributable to high turnover in the cashier positions but it is still a serious issue. And perhaps, new cashiers should have to do restocking for their first month before moving to...

I’m leaving a 1 not because of the store. The store was wonderful!! Briana however was horrible. I called to see if there was some plumbing stuff called Rooto. She put me in hold for about 3 minutes and came back and said the had none in stock. However, I was in the Ace Hardware website and it told me it was in stock and I could pick it up tomorrow. I needed it today because my tub wasn’t draining. So I drive 10 minutes across town to see if it was there. Beholdddddd - there was not just one bottle but like 20 bottles. I get that it was 7 pm and you might want to go home but if you work in retail and you work in customer service then you should at least be honest. I was in today to get paint for touch ups in my home. I didn’t have much to go on except the builders sheet that stated extra white. Ron was very helpful in helping figure out the exact extra white color that was necessary for my interior walls. My previous visit on the day before I wasn’t as sure about the color so I gave the young lady a number that someone gave me from my community and I specifically asked if it was white paint. She said yes however when I got home and put it on the wall it was gray. Not entirely her fault as I gave her a number but seeing it on the screen today with Ron it was evident that it wasn’t white.
