I placed a take out order and arrived to pick it up to which I was not greeted nor approached by anyone for at least 15 minutes!! Eventually I approached someone who worked there to understand where I need to be for a pickup order since no one has acknowledged my arrival and I didn’t see any signs telling me where to wait. My wife and I order takeout from here all the time when it’s busy with no problem, in and out within 10 minutes tops. However, today (12/27/24), was a very different experience, as I watched two Caucasian parties arrive shortly after me and they were approached immediately. They did not wait 30 seconds as a normal experience had been for me and my spouse in the past. One party was for dine-in and one for takeout. I cannot help but feel as though I was racially profiled or discriminated against as if I were a DoorDash driver or something like that instead of a regular paying customer. And if this is how you treat your DoorDash drivers then you guys should be ashamed, as we are also the paying customer behind that driver patiently awaiting our food. If you guys cannot treat these delivery drivers with respect and dignity, then you guys should just stop accepting these orders. Went inside to place a takeout order, since the online ordering doesn’t show the full menu, and waited 10 minutes before someone even greeted me (or the person in front of me who had been standing there longer). Went to place my order, which was just two things, and the employee berated me saying that I was confusing him. Mind you my orders were two hibachi plates, no special requests, and I was showing him exactly what it was on the menu. I have no idea how that could be confusing, but I was still kind and left a tip that I later regretted. I waited for my food for 45 minutes with no employee coming to give me, or the other people waiting, updates or anything. I finally got fed up and went back to ask an employee myself and when he looked he realized there was no order under my name. I told him my order and they found it under a different name, the employee proceeded to YELL at me saying I shouldn’t of given him the wrong name! Why would that even matter because they weren’t giving orders out to anyone anyways? I don’t mind a mistake, we all make them, I cannot tolerate being yelled at for someone else’s wrongdoings. Low and behold, my meal had been ready and was sitting out for whatever reason. It was cold. Read moreUpdated on June 12th-Unfortunately, I'm changing my review from 4 stars to 1 star. Here's why. Imagine you just finished eating some sushi, eggs rolls, and drinking some yummy green tea. You're sitting in a restaurant chatting with your significant other, enjoying a laid-back, quick bite at the local Konnichiwa. You look to your left and you are greeted by a very kind server, providing a table touch and checking on you and your date. As the server leaves the table, you notice something moving on the wall to your right. You look over, and there you see a little cockroach crawling on the wall. Disgusted was all I felt. We paid the bill and got out of there. We will never return again. As much as I love a quick bite of sushi and hibachi, I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Konnuchiwa has good food at good prices. Their sushi and hibachi dishes are very tasty. We have not had a bad meal there. Only reason for 4 stars is the restaurant does not have comfortable seating.
