Eggs Up Grill — Restaurant in South Carolina

I ordered shrimp n grits. I’ve eaten here many times in the past and was satisfied with the breakfasts that I ordered. They do have a new menu now. I was looking forward to the shrimp and grits after having them at Fleetwood Landing in Charleston pretty perfect, The French Restaurant in Spartanburg a bit over the top spicy, River Falls Cafe delicious. So I’m sorry to say at Eggs Up there was absolutely NO Flavor. There was no Salt, no Spice, no flavor. It was like eating plain untouched grits before adding the goodies.

I expected some flavor and spice since fire roasted tomatoes and andouille sausages are listed in the menu write up. But no. I had to add several large shakes of red pepper sauce, and lots of salt and pepper. And still no flavor. So if you want Shrimp and Grits go elsewhere. My husband had bacon and eggs and they were good. It’s hard to go...

It was out first time and we loved it!

The placed was busy, but the wait wasn't bad. Learned they do Yelp "Wait in Line", so we will take advantage of that in the future.

The menu is more than sufficient for your breakfast needs! Some fun names of menu items too.

On their name tags, the staff has their city and state of origin --- besides their names --- which is cool and leads to pleasant conversation beyond the contents of your order.

Orders are taken electronically at the table --- YAY --- and your meal is delivered (what we found) quick. Looking forward to the day they do the payment tableside. We asked --- and presently there is apparently a survey and other items requiring responses --- rather than just paying your bill.

We love the place and will make it a part of our weekend...

I ordered the Texas? Omelet. The potatoes in the omelet were too big for the omelet to stay together properly. The mushrooms were canned. The gravy on top was just warm, not hot. The potatoes that came on the side were tasty, but the portion was small. My toast was buttered on both sides. The food was acceptable for a chain restaurant, but it wasn't outstanding.

Our waitress was friendly and personable. She brought our food quickly and kept our drinks topped off. I wish that I had caught her name. She was good and got herself a tip north of 20%.

I really want to give this place four stars, but the food was just above average. The service was five star service. I guess that averages out to four stars...three for the food and five for the service 🤷‍♂️
