I visited this Y for almost 15 years to do workouts whenever visiting my grandfather who lived nearby (I live in CT). I was always so impressed by the kindness and "family feel" of all the employees and especially by the members in the weight room.
On numerous occasions, I was working out downstairs in the free weights area, and multiple members came over to me simply to say hi and introduce themselves, as they hadn't seen me there before! Wow! Can't say I've ever had that happen in CT.

Read moreI like the atmosphere of the Hillcrest YMCA from the staff, instructors to the people I have come in contact and made friendships with since my membership over 5 years ago. A convenient location, numerous classes to take. It has also helped me to improve my health and lifestyle. Read moreHillcrest is the only Y that has an arthritis water exercise class that is convenient. I'd have to sign up on a list almost 1 month ahead to be able to go to the Willoughby class. That's too much work. I cannot always schedule classes. I have fibromyalgia and I need to be flexible. Sometimes I cannot make it, but I think your class works the best for me.
