Iāve rented jet skis at most of the rental companies around John's pass and keep coming back here because of the great value and Sea-Doo equipment. The Sea-Doo models are comfortable, stable, and slightly faster than the Yamahas nearby (130HP vs. 100-110HP). Their stability and hull makes them a little more predictable in the water too, less sensitive to small steering changes and good for newbies. My friend was nervous to even think about driving but took the reigns for five minutes and felt confident at max speed. As a veteran rider and having driven both side by side, I prefer the Sea-Doo too (it ultimately steered me towards purchasing a Sea-Doo back home in 2024, whereas I was previously convinced I wanted a Yamaha). The Sea-Doo hull / body is a smoother ride without compromising the fun factor. These units in particular have a seemingly wider turning radius so no hairpin turns but plenty spry enough to toss the back end out and slide/glide sideways across the water to throw water walls (my favorite!). Nearby Yamaha's (and other Sea-Doo hulls) can bite a little more which can be good navigating choppier water but in calmer waters the constant biting can sometimes feel like oversteering. Just preference. The Sea-Doo ride is smooth and exhilarating, and with a passenger in back we still hit the jet ski's max speed of ~45mph. The jet skis are a few years old in good condition, similar age or newer than other nearby units. My preferred choice.
Prices here are much cheaper than beachfront rentals, and while direct competitors are similarly priced, this location is noticeably cheaper after taxes/fees. For example, a 2-hour session here was $140 base and $155-165 after taxes/fees (small differences booking in-person or online) compared to $140 or $150 base and $180 after taxes/fees nearby. The early bird sessions (9-10am) are ideal for calmer waters whereas afternoon can be choppier with truncated options with evening tide changes. 10am is the perfect blend of smooth water and warmer air. Water was still on the lukewarm side mid-April so we weren't trying to get soaked. We were able to maintain a dry ride and we were hot the entire time with full sun - enjoying the occasional (intentional) water spritz from wave jumping.
The staff is good vibes, attentive and informative, making the process warm and seamless. Every detail is thought of but not overbearing and handled with customer experience in mind. Questions were met with an open mind. Even picking a life jacket felt personalized. Some staff I recognize over the years which in itself felt good. The location is great, with up to a 3-mile range to explore, and Iāve seen dolphins every time Iāve gone out. I recommend the two hour session to explore both the beachfront and the intercostal as it takes about 5 minutes one way to idle out to beachfront and 10-15 minutes one way to idle out to the intercostal designated riding areas. The units are controlled remotely in no-wake zones and to avoid collisions and dangerous areas so you can just grab the accelerator and go. If you have to take the boating test, it took my friend all of 6 minutes and they encourage you to look up the answers. The point is to learn not restrict and the staff seems keen on you having a good time, compared to places that make you feel scared to even get on one or that any slight bump along the way is going to cost you $10K in liability. This staff made you feel confident the ride was going to be great, that getting tossed off probably meant you were having fun and that in the insanely odd circumstance the unit turns over, it was no big deal, just step on the corner and flip it back upright. Total pros, totally invested in their customer experience, very warm and welcoming with the best units and the best prices. A shower and two clean, private bathrooms. We booked one unit online the night before and when we showed up, we realized it made more sense to have two units, and it was a breeze to make the change given that the units were available. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the WORST experience ever! My fiance and I rented 2 jetski for 1 hr to take our kids on a ride (3 kids ages 5, 10 and 11). Weather was sunny and nice. While we were at sea, it started raining hard with big waves, my fiance jetski overturned with our 10 year old, the key stayed in the jetski (somehow it got detached from his lifeguard jacket) so it kept running hitting them at low speed while they were struggling to stay afloat in the crazy weather, my fiance wasnt able to grab the jetski becasue our 10 year old went crazy crying and almost trying to get on top of my fiance, so they started swimming to shore (meanhwile I had called the company and told them we were in trouble). The owner (short guy with strong accent, forgot to get his name) arrived to us in a jetski and then my jetski overtunrs with the other 2 kids! Disaster!! While I'm strugling to swim to the jetski with my 5 and 11 year old, the waves kept on taking the jetski farther and farther so I decided to start swimmimg to shore. The owner sees me struggling pushing my 5 year old with one hand while swimming with the other and says we aren't supposed to leave the jetski in the water, my 11 year old got farther away from me and starts screaming and crying, the owner asks if the kids know how to swim and I said not in these waters ( they be fine in the pool), he says you shouldve said something when you booked it! He proceeds to grab my 11 year old on the side of the jetski and brings him to shore, then comes back and brings me and my 5 year old to shore. Once we are all at shore owner says we all need to get on the jetski and bring them back (3 kids crying traumatized with everything that happened), he wasn't sympathetic at all, he was rude and mad becasue we left his jetskis in the water and prioritize bringing our kids to safety. I volunteered to get back in the water and bring one of the jetskis back (almost sh** myself trying to get back to deep waters) while my fiance stayed with the kids at shore. Brought jetski back and was told owner had gone back to beach in his truck in an attempt to pick up kids and my fiance and bring them back to location but he couldn't find them so I took my car and drive around the area and found them within 5 minutes. I called the place amd let them know not to look for them anymore becasue I had found them. I brought life jackets back to the place and as I'm waiting for my credit card, owner gets to the store and parks in reverse while peeling tires, goes inside store and throws phone on the counter, and starts arguing that my fiance didn't listen to him when he said to wait at beach for him to pick them up. It was a horrible interaction, never experience anything similar, i was holding my anger tears back. In a good note, I give kudos to the staff, they were very good at explaining safety procedures, very friendly and were actually more concern asking how we were doing after what...
