Everytime we go to the beach we check out the arcades. Before we spend $100 on games we check out what's available, to ensure they are in good working order and something we feel our young kids are capable of playing. However, upon enter this establishment, we were harassed with a youngish guy saying repeatedly "you have to have tokens", getting increasingly more aggressive each time. We just thought he meant in order to PLAY the games, not in order to LOOK at the games. After not even two minutes of being in this unfriendly environment with a grossly aggressive person staring us down, we ended up leaving. After reading other reviews (we didn't do that prior, because "how bad can it be?" It's just an arcade.) I decided I needed to add another one star to accompany the others. Parents need to know what they're walking into. If the owners are trying to bash customers for seapking up after being treated like garbage, just for wanting to preview the games, then I'm going to bring attention to the horrible experience I had as well. Parents: take your precious families somewhere else where they will be treated with kindness and respect. These people just want your money and they don't care if you enjoy your time or not. I'm appalled with the way my family was spoken to and harassed. There are other much nicer arcades, with good food, air conditioning, and friendly staff, that actually appreciates the business they receive. We own our own business and I would NEVER have an employee that treated customers the way that guy does. I would make it right with my customers. But, we strive for excellence and I guess I expect the same of other business owners, because we value repeat customers and referrals. This is clearly not the case with this establishment.
But this experience wasn't without reward. Our children got to see for themselves what an unkind, discontented person looked like. I was able to teach them a lesson about bad attitudes and how just because someone treats you poorly, that's in no way a reflection of your worth. For that, I'm grateful. Enjoy your vacation, save yourself a trip...
Read moreIf I could give them no stars I would, and I really never spend time giving anybody reviews - good or bad. Long story short: we are not anti-maskers, we are pleasant people with kids, and were endlessly confronted about total non-sense. We will not be back.
Was recently just there with my 2 boys (2 & 1) and nephew (1) as well as my wife and siblings. As I walked in my mask fell below my nose and the cashier asked me to pull it up so I did. As I was getting my tokens the cashier started questioning my wife about how old our 2 year old is and telling her he needed a mask. Not sure if any of you have a two year old or follow the American Academy of Pediatrics, but literally a mask for 2 is not even feasible. Anyways, I asked for a refund for our $20 as he insisted on the 2 year old wearing the mask. He said he was unable to, so we quickly tried to use our tokens and leave. Our oldest needed to use the restroom and I asked (admittedly a little rudely) if there was a restroom which they told me to go back down the elevator and across the street. Ultimately the owner ended up coming up to us and asking us to leave and threatening to call the sheriffs office as I “wasn’t willing to wear my mask (not true) had been rude, and cursed at his cashier”. My wife responded she understood his opinion as a business owner, agreed that masks should cover the nose and that it was unintentional, and that if we would have been given a refund none of this would have occurred. He walked her to the front and said “don’t you see right there it says no refunds or exchanges”, well that would have been convenient if the cashier hadn’t reprimanded us AFTER we bought the tokens. The worst experience I’ve had since the pandemic started, completely ridiculous, and totally disappointed. I won’t be shocked if this small business doesn’t make it through the...
Read moreWe chanced on this place for the first time in 2015. It's almost hidden on the second floor of John's Pass, but I tell you, this place is akin to buried treasure. It has been the highlight of our Treasure Island trip for two years now, and we will be making sure to return annually for every vacation.
The staff is super friendly and accommodating - they stayed open late for us so we could spend all our tokens and finish our drinks, and never once made us feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing them. Tina and Joe are great people!
You get 4 tokens per dollar, and the machines are 1, 2, and 4 tokens to play. There are both ticket games (always a slew of cool prizes to be had!) along with normal arcade video games. Highly recommend the Wheel of Fortune game. They also have an awesome new Jurassic Park shooter game, 2 pad DDR, skeeball, hoops, air hockey and lots of others.
They serve a few concession types of food and drink. The great thing is they also serve beer and wine, with multiple choices available, so if you're a parent not really interested in the gaming side, you can sit at one of their tables in the cool air conditioning and snack on some nachos and cheese or some popcorn and enjoy a beer while the kids have their fun. Sometimes, they even have vouchers for a free appetizer from Bubba Gumps, so it pays to stop in here before heading to dinner.
Long story short: Fantastic fun arcade run by friendly people that serves...
