We went to St Pete on a Father’s Day and birthday weekend. We arrived Saturday afternoon and wanted to do something fun that night. I booked the evening cruise on their website the night prior (love how easy it is) and headed straight for John’s pass. For those that haven’t been there before, there is a fairly large parking garage right across and with easy access to the board walk. Once we got there I went to the pirate store and they were very nice, gave me a boarding pass and told me to come back at the time in which boarding would happen. We walked around the board walk and came back then. The little shop has a lot of fun pirates souvenir so if you have kids they will probably want to get some things. They have cool pirate hats and pistols and a pirate eye patch among other things. Tip, the captain and crew will give the kids pirate hats and and guns so I opted for just the eye patch. Right before boarding they take a group picture and before leaving they have it framed in the coolest pirate theme frame which was too nice not to get, definitely recommend waiting to see the picture if your looking to get a momento (it was 25 bucks) The ship is very cool, it feels very authentic and the day we went we just so happen to go with a large group who were all dressed up as pirates! That made it even more authentic! My daughter had such a blast, she turned 7 and she was completely engaged the entire time. When they get into the boat the crew pretty much take over the kids and trade their pistols for water guns for them to have a blast! Everyone was laughing and having such a great time. There was even a story time when one of the crew members sat down with them and were asking them questions and the kids were answering all sorts of things. Honestly this was my favorite part. Anyone that is so great with kids and so kind to mine get 5 stars in my book. I highly recommend this cruise for family of all sizes and ages, definitely worth it!! Thank you all so much for having us on your ship, it was an excellent start to our...

We had an absolute blast on our pirate ship adventure—it totally exceeded our expectations! Our 5-year-old was a little unsure at first (real pirates?!), but the crew was so kind and playful that she quickly got into it. She was completely entertained the entire trip, which honestly made this feel like a surprise date night for us. We got to enjoy the views, chat with the crew, and even grab a cold drink from the bar while she was off sword fighting and treasure hunting.
Captain Jim and his crew were incredible—not only did they stay in character and keep the energy high, but they were fantastic with the kids and made sure everyone was safe and having fun. (Bonus: Captain Jim is a Navy pilot and engineer—so you know you’re in good hands!)
The boat itself was clean, spacious, and smooth sailing. We spotted dolphins, got awesome photos, and laughed at plenty of pirate jokes and “ARRR’s” along the way. It’s just the right length—not too long, not too short—and kept even our youngest fully engaged.
If you’re visiting the area, this is a must-do with kids. Even if you don’t have kids, the show and scenery make it a fun ride. Just know—it’s a pirate cruise, not a quiet sightseeing tour!
Bring sunscreen, your best pirate jokes, and don’t forget cash to tip the hardworking crew. We’re already talking about coming back for a birthday party cruise someday.
Book it—you’ll have a...
Read moreWe went in a group of 6, including friends, and my two kids, ages 3 and 4. Regarding negative reviews, this is a quick party boat excursion themed for kids. If you want a longer and more basic boat ride, there are other options in the area - which my wife and I have done before when alone. This excursion is about watching your kids have a blast and enjoying some drinks at the same time. And that is exactly what happened! My kids, though somewhat on the small side compared to most of the other kids, had a wonderful experience! They fully enjoyed the squirt gun wars, listened to the story time, traded coins for treasure, and wore their pirate hats the rest of the day. As far as drinks go, I paid an extra $4.00 for a rum and coke, and the staff poured the cup with 85% rum/15% coke. I can't complain about that! The staff are extraordinarily patient with kids, even the couple of obnoxious and impolite children. The ship is very small for 42 people, but we got lucky and some folks didn't show up. The bathroom is VERY clean! Only improve would be to take a little longer in the boarding process and have staff attempt to work with positioning kids during the photo. We would've bought the family photo, but we didn't know that one of the kid's faces was blocked by the ship's steering wheel. Overall, worth it for the kids, and the drinks were great! Would recommend...
