Read moreStayed here for a few days, not sure if I would stay again. If I receive a good rate again I can be swayed but not a place I would jump on right away. Positives is it’s close to the beach, and Johns pass. The pool area is really nice and kept clean, with ample amount of seating. I also like that they have a hot tub, as well as a large 0 depth pool. I also like that every room has a nice balcony, and the patio seating/grilling area. One of my favorite features was how nice the exterior of the hotel is and the good upkeep of the grounds, as well as the hose to rinse your feet being connected to the stairs right off the beach access was a super nice touch. Things I didnt like is the hot tub jets were not working correctly the whole time. I didn’t think the outside matched the inside of the rooms, like the rooms are outdated compared to how upscale the outdoor area looks. I felt bamboozled by the “resort” fee that had to be paid upon check in I still don’t really know what that is for as it’s not really a resort. The office closes at 5 most days, which is a little strange when doing check in late, it didn’t really feel safe or secure. The fitness center could only be used when someone was in the office, so during the day when you should be out enjoying the weather so that’s really disappointing. I also was not really a fan of how their house keeping was, I appreciate them not coming in the room everyday but I don’t appreciate them leaving an envelope for a tip in the room yeah noo, since they don’t really do anything while your staying. Back to the room so it is outdated compared to the outside but large. Love the kitchenette area that was perfect and deff equip with all your needs. I didn’t like that lights were not working in my room, there was a ton of little ants in my room, and found just little things that didn’t seemed to be cleaned in a long time. The heating and cooling system also didn’t seem to really work right and I was constantly playing with it to get a good temp. Overall, the experience was 50/50. I feel like the hotel has a lot of positives but a lot of things can be improved too. But staff I did interact with were super kind, and...
Read morePOSTED BY RENEE MATHES: Stayed for three nights at the end of April. We were in a gulf-view room (I think room 312) on the third floor. It was AWESOME! It was a corner room with the stairs right outside our door. So convenient and great for a little exercise. The pool-area entrance was at the bottom of the stairs and we were able to park our car in a spot near it which made running to the car a quick trip (Parking is located on the ground floor so the hotel rooms actually start on the second floor). View from the room was beautiful and the balcony was very nice to have (unfortunately, hot air from the a/c unit did blow on the person sitting on the chair in front of it, so instead I just hung wet bathing suits on that chair and they dried much faster than just over the railing! Lemonade from lemons...). There were a few rough patches here and there but, honestly, I chalked it up to being located so close to the salty sea air. The pool was fabulous and my kids loved the two hammocks in that area. My husband liked sitting at the tables in the shade of the umbrellas. The laundry room was over by the elevator which was just a short walk down the outdoor hallway. Had a tv and seating in the air conditioned laundry room. Washers and dryers worked well and seemed well cared for. Beach access was simple and had water faucets at the edge of the beach so the sand could be washed off of feet instead of being dragged into the room. Beautiful sunsets!! My daughters found some nice little shells and the waves were nice but nothing huge unless the jet skis were flying by (it IS the gulf, after all). Perfect for little kids to frolic in. Beach was not at all crowded. There were several beach chairs, pails/shovels and "boogie boards" left behind by past guests that current guests are welcome to borrow. Nice considering we flew down and didn't have room in our suitcases for those things! Front desk staff was very helpful and patient with all our questions. Quick walk to the Johns Pass Boardwalk. Mad Beach Brewery was great. Would, without question, stay here...
