Belle Vista Hotel — Hotel in Madeira Beach

Unit was clean, had everything from toiletries, towels, pots, pans, paper towels, etc. Loved that it would maintain a nice cool temperature of 68. Great location.

Definitely couldn't swim. Maybe you can fish from the dock but Definitely not a place to swim. Unit was a bit small. My biggest complaint is having to pay $150 for cleaning service yet we are required to wash, dry and put away all dishes, strip the beds of their sheets and pillow cases, take out all trash to the other side of the building and sweep the floors because if any sand is found inside, I would have been charged $50. Because of all of this I was 45 minutes late checking out ans the cleaning lady who was unbelievably rude kept harassing me while I was trying to get the heck out of there. She was very sarcastic and said check out time is 10:00 and that the owners were trying to reach me so I need to call them. I was not going to stop and call them. I was getting my stuff out and cleaning the place. We told the rude cleaning lady she is welcome to start cleaning right when she arrived but she had an attitude and refused to go in there even though the bedrooms and bathroom were clear of our belongings. She said they needed the unit clean for pictures. That's fine. No need to be rude and sit there staring at us as we do the cleaning. She could have gotten up off her butt and started doing her job rather than complain and be rude. She makes $150 when we do all the work. She should be happy. Yes, I was 45 min late checking out. Perhaps it's the laundry list of chores we had to do. Not even a dishwasher. Place was too small for a dishwasher. I just can't get over paying that much for a cleaning lady who is rude and doesn't have to do anything. So I will say this, "you're welcome for my business and our cleaning services we provided". This was my first time staying at Belle Vista and Rooms are pleasantly decorated, plenty of towels, pillows, and blankets are provided in rooms. We had a slight air conditioner problem with a slow start by the management to fix however they came through in the end, they even put us my in another room while the repair was being made. Important things to know about the property: The coin laundry on sight is hidden around the back side of the building and its cost to $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry, it takes quarters only and there is NO change machine on sight. So bring plenty of change if you forget to bring change at the Johns Pass Information Center in Johnson pass Village, has a change machine and ATM. Don’t forget dish soap that was one item not provided in the kitchenette that provides regular size refrigerator, full-size stove and oven, a microwave, coffee pot, and blender. A few dishes and cutlery. Some cutlery not provided I recommend you bring is wine bottle opener, melon baller. Check in? Well there is No real Office to speak of and we never actually met the manager only spoke on the phone and check in off site. Another issue the trash which is right in front of the gate was overflowing for most of our stay here, but when we did call the management about the trash it was taken care of by the time we came back from our outing. It was our first time staying at Belle Vista Hotel. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Octopus unit that had amazing water views from our dining table and the master bedroom. We rented this place with our 2 young boys and friends of ours rented the upper Mermaid unit with their 3 kids. The kids had a blast fishing off the dock and at night the adults were able to enjoy the outdoor common area for some drinks while the kiddies slept. The entire place was clean and had all the amenities needed - cutlery, dishes, coffee maker, full size kitchen appliances, hair dryer, plenty of bath towels, beach towels and sand toys for the kids etc. There is onsite laundry facilities and there was even a playpen and a booster chair available for our little guy to use so we didn't have to bring that on the plane with us! The hotel is literally steps from John's Pass - a vibrant boardwalk with tons of shops, ice cream parlours and places to eat. It was fantastic with kids as we could walk to the beach, for meals, ice cream treats, souvenir shopping and to go watch the dolphins and pelicans at the pier. There is a beautiful beach within walking distance and there were plenty of other beautiful beaches within a short drive - we toured much of the area from this great location.
