Allowed my offspring to talk me into coming back here a second time, against my better judgment. They refuse to enforce their own Covid and social distancing "customer rules". The other guests are loud, leading lights on, refusing to wear masks. It was a horrible experience twice and costs 3 times as much as the same films at the regular theatre right now. And for 1/3 the price I get air conditioning, socially distanced seats, cushioned chairs and dark. Its a shame. The drive in is usually a fun place, just not this one.
They open at 7pm during the week, yet it was 7:15 before anyone appeared in the ticket booth and another 5 minutes before they began allowing people through. We could hear the opposite screen, but not our own film, even with the car volume maxed out. Not going to return.
No one knew what was going on. The phone number listed on their website gives a constant busy signal. After the first film of their double feature, there are no employees anywhere to address any problems (including the issue of not being able to hear the film). It's a ludicrous way to operate... such a shame as these drive ins are generally such a...
Read moreA throwback in time. There are two movie screens and each shows two movies. Tickets are General Admission $9 for and Children aged 2-11 are $4. The Box Office Hours are open @ 7:45 pm, first show begins @ dusk. Since it is summer time I'd highly recommend using a mosquito repellent on a towel and place it on your seats so you won't feel uncomfortable in the heat. Bring lawn chairs and comfortable shoes. Bring a small flashlight so you can see where you're walking because there's dirt and gravel. The concession building is centrally located. Prices for snacks were slightly less in comparison to a walk in theater. Popcorn was fresh, hot dogs were piping hot, churros were nice and warm, the nachos were smothered in queso, corn dogs were hot and the pizza looked good too. Three sizes of soft drinks. If you buy a bottled water and request a small cup of ice they will refill your bottle with water and put more ice in your cup too. The women's bathroom was fairly clean although it could stand a few upgrades like a fan to cool the room. Overall a nice venue. Enjoy...
Read moreOn Father's day my wife and kids (3) took me to the Madera 2 drive in. The line was long behind us at 7:45 pm when the gates opened. We got in line about 10 mins prior. I couldn't believe how smoothly 2 lines of cars could enter with one guy at the box office. Impressive! With our many trips around the sun, the wife and I qualified for the discount admission price of only $6. While the kids had to pay the "ADULT" price of $13.00 each/ouch! O.G. score!
Prices Kids under 18. $6 Kids over 18 $13.00 O.G. 55 trips around the sun and over $6 We were there to see "The Garfield Movie" showing on screen 2.. We had almost an hour to visit the snack bar. Heads up! The line at the snack bar got long quickly and patience is a must. Bring quarters for the toy machines and you are good. I had the best experience in my life enjoying time with my family at a rare place. We only stayed for the first of two movies each screen had to offer. I left a very happy DAD. Thank you to the wife and our 3 awesome kids. We will...
