I originally went to Joyful Hair Design before trying out Dingâs a few years back. The haircut itself was fine, but the vibe was⊠off. The barber didnât exactly radiate warmth, and seeing him smoking out front didnât help make a great impression. Still, I gave it a shot for a little whileâuntil the pandemic hit.
When it came time to resume regular haircuts, I went back to Joyful, where they treat you like a person and actually seem happy to see you.
Today, after hearing Dingâs had reopened, I figured Iâd give it one last try. I arrived at 11:50 AM (they open at noon), and waited. By 12:15 PM, the doors were still locked. No lights on. No sign of life. No barber. Just me, standing on the sidewalk, wondering why I was giving this place a second chance.
Thatâs when I remembered: this was the same place where the barber used to be out front smoking instead of welcoming customers. So in a way, I guess things havenât changedâtheyâre just not even bothering to show up now.
I went straight back to Joyful, where theyâre punctual, professional, and donât make you feel like youâre chasing a ghost.
Dingâs may technically be open againâbut donât hold your breath...
Read moreThis salon has only one barber, and heâs inefficient, so you end up waiting a long time every visit. Worse still, his attitude is terrible, and he completely ignores the "first come, first served" rule. MORE THEN ONCE! Iâve had people who speak Cantonese cut in front of me and he just ask me to wait without any explanation! If youâre his friend, youâll get served first, no matter how long others have been waiting. To top it off, the prices here are higher than at other salons. So save yourself...
Read moreThis is probably the rudest and worst hair salon I have ever been to. 3 times here. None of the time I have enjoyed it. First time was ok. Second time got my hair wrong. The hair dresserâs like yeah I cut it too high mehhhh. The third time was like I donât care what you want whatever you want and make comments on what I described. No one owns you a thing. If you donât want to run the business why should I spend money here? No wonder you donât have good business...
