I'm new to Orlando and needed to get out and try to find some new running shirts. So, I did a quick search of all the running shops in Orlando and came up with 3 main choices: Fit 2 Run, Track Shack, and Fleet Feet.
I liked Fit 2 Run's selection but it's you're typical mall-oriented store; meaning - not all staff know what they're talking about AND all they care about is selling their personal favorites (this is the second Fit 2 Run I've been to-Gainesville being the other-and every sales person I've had there has said, and I quote, "Yeah, I don't know much about those brands, but here's the brand I like and here's what most people buy." Terrible experience.
Track Shack had plenty of customers and the staff seemed to be helping them just fine. However, I spent 15 mins in the store and not a single employee came up and asked if they could help me nor did anyone care that I walked out after looking around and even trying on some shirts. I was apparently invisible. Not a bad selection of running gear, but not a great experience.
Fleet Feet was amazing! As soon as I walked in the store, I was greeted by (I think his name was) Brian and we proceeded to talk about my current running level and goals and what brought me in the store. After about 10 mins of talking and him showing me the different pluses and minuses of running shirts and shorts and how certain ones would work a little better for what I'm trying to do, we narrowed down my choices to my best options. Of course, I decided to try on every shirt just as a reference and they were completely cool with that. During my 30 or 40 mins in the store I got to spend some time with another employee who also helped with my rather extensive shirt fitting and helped with their gel selection and gave me recommendations on where to get some long runs in locally. I wish I could recall his name but I didn't catch it; super helpful, though!
Anyway, after having tried out the other places here in Orlando, I'll be giving my business to Fleet Feet!...
Read moreI was referred here by my podiatrist. I have fallen arches coupled with a recent ankle injury that require better footwear to heal. I came on a Saturday afternoon so they were busy (each associate had a customer) but they put me on the list. It was worth the wait because they give you their undivided attention when it’s your turn.
I was impressed with the 3D foot imaging and fitting technology they use. It confirmed some things I suspected about my feet. Plus, they email the results to you!
Lucas was AMAZING to work with. He listened to my concerns and didn’t make me feel rushed. He educated me the entire time. I appreciated that he wanted my feedback first after trying on shoes before he explained what features caused me to feel a particular way in the shoes. He also taught me about the heel lock which I need to use!
When I requested to know why a pair I liked the look of was not an option, he went and got the shoe so I could feel why it wouldn’t work (and he was right - it was a horrible shoe for my needs lol). He never came off as being bothered or annoyed by my many questions. He did it all with great care, concern, communication and humor. I highly recommend his service!
I left with support sandals and sneakers and spent less that I expected to. To me, their prices are comparable to other places selling quality running shoes ... but their knowledge and...
Read moreI loath deceptive value propositions by a business. I found Fleet Feet "Happy Fit Guarantee" to be disingenuous. I bought a pair of Hoka's at a different Fleet Feet franchise location while visiting family at Christmas. After wearing the shoes two times they began to hurt, and attempted to exchange them (with my receipt) two weeks later at the Maitland store near me where I also previously purchased shoes. I simply wanted to exchange them for the same style in a slightly larger size which they had in store, tried on, and felt much more comfortable. The salesperson then came back out and stated that the manager would not honor the exchange because my pair was purchased at another Fleet Feet store as a clearance item. They WERE willing to credit what I had spent and upsell me however! I then contacted HOKA directly and were gracious to work with me thus I agreed to spend an additional $16 to ship my recent purchase to them Priority Express). This location offers good service when generating income for the store but I found their service & "value posturing" to be disingenuous while attempted what could have been a simple exchange for a half-size larger in an identical shoe which they had in-store. I may continue to shop other Fleet Feet franchise locations but I will not be back to the...
