This was the most unbelievably unprofessional interaction I have ever experienced from a restaurant. Ever.
Our office called in a lunch order for 13 people. We told them there was no rush and that we didn't need it ready at a specific time. The owner told us that the order would be ready in 15 minutes so we sent one of our staff members to pick up the food. When he arrived, he was scolded by the woman working there for placing a large order on short notice. She was extremely rude.
When we started passing out the food, we realized that our order was missing three sandwiches and a side dish, so our office manager called them back to let them know. The owner was immediately angered by this; he got defensive and accused us of lying about the missing food. He kept insisting that he had packed our order himself so he KNEW it wasn't missing anything.
Our office manager walked over with the receipt and a list of what was actually in our bags to show what had been left out and he still refused to acknowledge that he had made a mistake. He made us REPAY for the missing food that we had already paid for; my manager had no other option because we would have had three staff members without lunch otherwise.
And after all of that drama, the food was greasy anyway. What an awful restaurant with terrible customer service. We will NEVER order from them again after...
Read moreSeemingly off the beaten path of 17-92, but certainly familiar to Maitland locals, Houndstooth is a must-try deli style scratch kitchen. I had the panini pressed Houndstooth Cuban (+ tomato), and Macaroni Salad, and iced-tea.
Everything was fresh and flavorful. Love the panini pressed approach to doing a Cuban. The pork had a clean marinade flavor, too. And quite possibly the best macaroni salad, this side of the Mississippi.
This is one of those places that when you realize you missed out ever since they opened about 4 years ago, you want to come back and make up for lost time, especially after seeing all they offer (salads, panini sandwiches, soups and sides).
The spacious outside patio overlooking the scenic park across the street was also a pleasant surprise. I'm an interior designer, who found the rustic modern decor to be a nice complement to the quaint interior.
More importantly, as an Alabama Crimson Tide fan, the Bear Bryant "Houndstooth" and Crimson-stained reclaimed ship lap paneling was a subtle and tasteful touch. Even if you're a Tiger, Gator, Bulldog or Nole fan, you'll still love Houndstooth.. and its...
Read moreStarting off, all of our employees have loved Hounds Tooth in the past. We love their message and positivity with supporting the local humane society. We called at 11:10 (Ten minutes after they opened) and placed a large order for our office, which came out to 180.00 after a 15$ tip we included. The owner's wife was working and was rude to our pick up person, saying these orders need to be placed at least a day ahead of time on their online website. Once we picked up the food and distributed it back at the office we found we were missing 3 sandwiches. We called and spoke to the owner and his wife, who insisted we were "accusing them of not putting our food in the transport bags on purpose." Our firm manager drove back over and reordered, and re-payed for the 3 missing sandwiches only for the owners to be rude and continue to insist the error was on our end. This unprofessional customer service came not from an employee, but from the owner and wife directly. All we wanted was the 3 missing items replaced and instead we got attitude and rude demeanor. We...
