We went on sunday where they were doing one of their farmers market type events. It wasn't a huge event or anything, in fact, it was quite quaint. I brought my 2mo baby with my elderly father and mother and was very pleased that everyone was wearing masks for the most part. My father is very ill I'm regards to his lungs and getting the Corona virus would in fact kill him. So seeing the amount of people who willfully respected the mandate pleased me. (My infant's father passed away from covid in September, so I take it VERY seriously, considering the fact that he was 37 years old with NO underlying health issues.) But I was incredibly pleased with the selection of goods there and the kindness of the salespeople. The prices were very pleasing as well. One stand, the fellow had veggies and fruit for sale and I was able to buy a medium sized basket of some very tasty star fruit for $1. He was also selling other items for $1 as well, like beautiful full heads of romaine lettuce and baskets of huge yellow onions, among other things. You could get anything from coffee to soap at this market (which I believe is held every sunday, if I'm not mistaken). I saw donuts and popcorn to jewelry and christmas ornaments.
Aside from the farmers market, this lake has been a family favorite destination of ours for decades. We've been going here for at least 32 years. It's a lovely walk to take around the lake. You get to see these giant yellow slider turtles the size of dinner plates swimming around in the surprisingly clear water and we even saw baby ducks on our most recent visit. (Stay away from the geese though, they WILL chase you and/or your children.) My father said there's even otters at this lake. You're also very welcomed to bring your pet dogs to the park as well. We brought our own small dog and saw many other dogs of many sizes there too. All of whom seemed very well behaved.
Lake Lily is and has been one of my favorite places since I was a kid and seeing the town being built up around it just opens up more options for things to do in the area. (About 20 years ago there wasn't much to do around there.) And despite the area being developed in recent years, the lake itself still remains a calm and relaxing destination for families and single people who are just there to exercise alike. I highly reccomend it over cranes roost in Altamonte Springs if you're looking for a more quiet, friendly and lovely place to walk around and/or just gather your thoughts or even exercise. It's such a nice place for anyone to build good...

Read moreLake Lily is one of my favorite parks. It is a small and very peaceful park. Squirrels, birds and ducks are ever present as you walk around the lake's approximately 0.4 miles. There are also a few mini trails that veer off of the main lake trail. Several black vinyl covered metal picnic tables with benches, and a gazebo provide seating for quite a few people. The park also has an updated restroom and play area. And, it hosts a Farmer's Market on Sundays, as well as, other seasonal activities.
