Simple story, but very long. I ordered the exact same shirt I already own but in grey.
I try it on and it's a keeper. I always hand wash my shirts when I receive them and then after that, I use the washing machine on delicate cold wash and hang to dry.
Anyways, I diverse. I wash the shirt and hang it to dry. The next day I went to put it on and I noticed it was quite pilled. I showed my husband and he said it looked like I have been wearing it for years. Yes, it looked that terrible.
Fast forward a week and I finally make it to the mall. The employee at the register was really nice and agreed with me about the shirt. She calls her manager over and she starts giving me a hard time for at least 15 minutes.
What detergent do you wash it with? - Woolite. (No joke, she looks up Woolite and reads the ingredients and if it should be used on this shirt). I cannot make this stuff up. Do you use a washing board? - What?! No. 3.So you hand washed it? - Yes.
On the tag it says to put it in the washing machine, so you didn't follow the label. - Hand washing is much more gentle.
She had more questions, but you get the drift. Anyways after the interrogation, she tells me that their policy is that the tag has to be on the item and it cannot be washed. Why the, heck didn't she tell me this in the beginning!?
I tell her that in order to wear the item, one must tag the tag off and wash it. It's actually on the label - wash before wearing. I explain over and over again because she does not comprehend this crazy policy and why it doesn't make sense. So she tells me she is going to call the head manager, Carolyn or Caroline (?).
She comes back 2 minutes later and tells me that the manager said no. I was extremely nice and calm (frustrated) but then when she told me that, I was livid.
I just spent $30 on a shirt that I cannot wear? Are you kidding? Any reputable store would take it back just to keep a customer and stand by their clothes.
So, I calmly tell the manager, that thinks she is better than me, that Torrid has now lost a good customer. Torrid should stand by their clothes and if someone has a problem with something, they should return or exchange it, in my humble opinion
Clearly their clothes aren't that great for the exorbitant amount you pay for them. I will say that I asked an employee if their clothes are well made. She told me that some are really cheap and the rest are okay.
Thank you Torrid for your amazing customer service. I truly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI placed an online order , worked late and raced to the mall to pick it up before the store closed. I was in and out but the two young ladies working the closing shift last night were an absolute delight.
I was in a rush , some rude gentleman running a business in the mall thought that " hailing" me like a cab was a good idea. He instantly tried to stop me, was yelling at me to get my attention but I literally had 6 minutes till TORRID closed and didn't have time to engage him for his sales pitch. As I was walking at a very fast pace , trying to follow the map on my phone , he decided to continue to shout things at me in a rude, sarcastic way. The ladies at the store listened to me vent about this , made me laugh , gave me positive compliments , cashed me out quickly and with a smile. Couldn't have asked for a better interaction or customer service experience.
Additionally ,the clothing I picked up was clean , folded neatly in a bag and was of great quality regarding fabric.
Thank you ladies for turning the night around! I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually love this store but this holiday season has been the worst. They cancelled my order three different times before finally telling me my items were out of stock (why are they even on the website and why would you let me pay for them??). When I finally did get some items, I went to go pick them up just two days before the deadline (when they cancel your order and return your items) āthen I find that they indefinitely temporarily closed?? What the heck?? How am I supposed to pick up my order. Waste of my precious time and I donāt have time to do this any other day this week. Itās almost like they donāt actually want your money.
UpdateāDO NOT BE TRICKED BY TORRID CASH āPROMOTIONSā. They had a sale where they said āearn unlimited torrid cash $25 for every $50 you spend-redeem later. Well guess what? You donāt just get the cash, you have to$50 to use $25 of Torrid cash AND they up charged so all the clothes are now more expensive. Also doesnāt apply to clearance and is not combinable with any other coupons. To thumbs...
