Five Below — Local services in Mankato

Was supposed to pickup 4 items. I only received 2! If I could give them a negative number I would. I called the store because I never even received an email stating that all of my items were not available. The supervisor on duty was completely clueless. Why do we put our email and phone if we aren't going going to be notified of issues? The girl at the store didn't know how to do a refund for the items I didn't get! I asked the managers name that could help me tomorrow. She said she couldn't give that information out. I only aksed for a 1st name not her home address and social security number! Unbelievable! Having 7 kids and living nearby, we frequently shop at this store because most of the merchandise they offer (a large selection!) is at least Walmart quality at a price that fits better into the budget of our large family. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, store is kept clean and I can tell they try to at least keep it as tidy as they can with having less employees than the big-name stores. My only complaints would be the aisle width and spacing (in a large town usually it needs to accommodate more bodies especially during peak shopping seasons), the crowded displays and the time it takes them to get to you if you need assistance with something. Loads of different products, although they are more gear to high school/college students. It's still fun to browse around though.

Occasionally, you can find some real geeky treasures. I found a Magic the Gathering board game and a D&D poster on separate trips. There are almost always WWE action figures from discontinued lines. They also have a small selection of video games.

My biggest warning is to look very carefully at what you are buying. Like all discount/dollar stores, there are some great deals, and some rip-offs. This is especially true of their electronics; Some of the headphones disintegrate instantly, others can last a long time.

Just be careful with what you buy, and think about the price. $5 isn't always...
