Play It Again Sports — Local services in Mankato

We have been coming to this store since my son started playing sports at age 5. We started playing soccer and baseball. They are always willing to answer your questions and give advice. If they don't know, they will ask another employee or tell you that they don't know and possibly give you an idea of where or how to find out. They try to follow the sporting seasons for their supply of new and used items. We have purchased both new and used items at good and what seems to be reasonable prices. We have also brought new and used items back to the store and they have purchased many things from us. Cleats and baseball bats for example. The store is not huge but they still manage to carry a decent selection of equipment for different sports. I am always impressed with the amount of hockey stuff. We don't play hockey but still, to me it seems to be a good selection. We currently play baseball, football and basketball. I like the customer service you get and the friendly atmosphere as well. We will continue to come here to see if we can find what we need for the sport we are playing at the time. Or to see if they will purchase something back. They will only purchase and take certain things back and I have to ask about them. Sometimes you might not know what they are interested in until you ask. It'd been about 20 years since I was last in Play It Again Sports in Mankato, and now being in my late 30s, stepping back in brought back some memories. It's great to see a business that's been a part of the Mankato community for so long, making sports gear accessible and affordable. I was just looking to get back into some casual sports, and honestly, the store certainly delivered!

The service was really good, especially from the older gentleman who helped me out. He was super helpful, and actually helped me settle on a nice baseball bat that was marked down – total win. He really got that we were just trying to have fun and not compete, so he didn't push us to over-invest in equipment. That kind of honest, laid-back guidance is exactly what I appreciate.

Beyond the bat, my girlfriend and I both left with awesome tennis rackets that seem like the right choice for getting back into things. I'll definitely be back soon to grab a basketball and pickleball gear. Thanks for being human, and not scripted robots like the folks at the store...

I couldn't be happier with the service we received when shopping for skates or my stepdaughter. We didn't know where to start, but the gentleman working that evening got her all set with skates that fit her well, yet gave her a little room to grow as well. You cant beat the prices - very fair and a good selection of low end to high end depending on how much you want to spend. We even brought her friend in a few days later to buy a pair so the girls can skate...
