Very Poor Customer Service, Rotten Vegetables, and Not Worth the Money, Time or Drive Drove 15 miles out of my way specifically to stop here and what a let down. First, they were out of Asiago bagles, not the end of the world but kind of frustrating because they don't list the other options on the DT menu. Then I get my order and my coffee looked wrong. I'd ordered Dark Chocolate, not milk chocolate, with an extra shot so it's pretty easy tell. I told the person who handed out my bagel and she said, "No, it's dark chocolate." I decided after driving 5 feet (and tasting it) that I paid $17.xx, so I should at least get what I ordered. So went back to DT line and figured I'd eat my potato salad while I waited. But I had no fork- I remained calm, thinking it's just simple mistake.. So at the window, I exchanged my coffee for the remake which now looked correct, and asked for a fork and napkins. I was handed a fork and had to ask again for napkins. I didn't get a simple apology either so now I'm pretty irritated and want to get back on the road, but she soon as I pulled ahead I realize I'd given the incorrect coffee back with my straw still in it and didn't get a new one. I parked, went on and grabbed one. I get going and pull out my bagel, went to bite it and something brown caught my eye. I pulled over and opened it up and the brown I'd seen is my lettuce. My spinach was also gross, slimey and left green goo when I tried to take it off. I would think that since they charge almost $8 a sandwich they could afford to use fresh vegetables or at least pay their staff enough to have some customer service skills, but I guess not. I will NOT be back and wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreMy mother and I had an interesting experience at Caribou on Madison this past summer. We stopped by for coffee after my mom's clinic visit, she was a bit dizzy and wanted something refreshing. There were two customers sitting with laptops beside us and it was not a busy time of the day. We took the coffee with us after sitting for 5 minutes inside, and as I was driving home, my mom realized she might have left a purse on the chair and we turned back right away. I walked in the Caribou and the same lady was at the register who served us. I explained we just left and my mom was not feeling well, hence, was forgetful and likely left her purse. The lady immediately became very defensive and said that we initially came without any purses and that she clearly remembered that. I said this was not true and I remembered my mother putting the purse on her chair. The lady insisted no purse had been found, though only 5-7 minutes passed since our visit, and the same two people were sitting with their laptops (one of them my former colleague). I suggested checking security cameras and the lady said it would not be possible. I explained there was no money in the purse but that my mother would need her ID and medical insurance card back. I was ready to call the police because it all looked fishy, especially the behavior of the employee, while another employee came from the kitchen overhearing our argument. I explained what happened and she quietly brought my mother's purse from the kitchen and returned it to me. I have not and will not come back to this Caribou...
Read moreI absolutely love caribou coffee and have worked there for 5 years. But every time I have been to this location something has been messed up. I come back to give them a chance. But I won’t be coming back to this location. The workers are awesome and friendly there. The manager is horrible! First time I had an encounter with Ken (I think that’s his name, the only older guy) he didn’t even know that the employee discounts had been changed to our perks accounts... this was a couple months from when we all had to convert them...he is the manager... he should know about this. The second time I told him I’d like to pay with my app... it clearly had money on my app and he used my points for a free drink.. without telling me or asking if I was okay with that. The third time (today) I got a bagel, checked in with my perks and said I’ll pay with my app he scanned my barcode and I asked if he had gotten my employee discount on there.. “he said oh sorry I forgot about that”! Great way to start my birthday! I will gladly give my money to caribou but the fact that it’s obvious when people have an employee discount and he didn’t put it on there annoyed me. Ken has got to go! I’ve worked/helped out at 4 different caribou locations and he is a...
