Did online order. Waited 1.5 hrs then headed to store because I needed to pick up while in that area. Went inside to ask how to pick up if not ready yet, Girl behind register told me to go sit in a curbside pickup spot for an indefinite amount of time until readyâŠ.đ I then asked to cancel my order so I could go pick up off shelf myself. She called âjimmyâ and said he handled it. I then asked to speak with jimmy. She told me he was âbusy out back doing other stuff, but you can wait if you wantâ. I headed to isle yo get my things. (I wanted to speak with Jimmie because I had used a voucher online towards my purchase which I earned, and wanted to see how I get that back). I met the same girl at the register to pay for my order that I grabbed off the shelf. Upon paying I gave her my voucher on my phone to scan to which she said âyour voucher has already been redeemedâ. I told her⊠âcorrect, this is why I wanted to speak to jimmyâ to which she said, âwell you donât have a voucher anymore so I donât know what to tell you.â đŹ Finally she called jimmyâŠâJimmy, can you come to the front, we have a voucher situationâ. Jimmy handled it quickly but wasnât really able to give any pointers for future shipping trips. The girl at the front was terrible. đ± She needs a bit more training⊠Will not shop this...
Read moreMichaels is a great craft store for something in a pinch, however, they are lacking in any serious fine art supplies. They have basically scraped the surface in all areas. They don't have anything that's specialized, like block printing ink selections, multiple watercolor selections, soft pastel selections ect. If you are a knitter, they have a lot of acrylic yarn, not much if any wool, or fine quality yarn. They list Tunisian crochet hooks on their website, but there aren't any in the store. They don't have any fabric, etc.
They do have a lot of fun kids crafty items, and a lot of fun crafty decor for your home.
They have a custom framing department but they will not dry mount anything unless it's a poster. Even if you made the drawing, they will not dry mount "artwork". They have a limited frame selection, it's good for run of theill framing projects, but if you want something unique or very creative, find a small frame store owned by a creative person for that.
You will always be able to find more variety and better pricing on the internet for any fine art or craft supplies. The key to shopping at Michaels is getting the app, and utilizing coupons and only shopping...
Read moreI just recently graduated with my Master's degrees, and my mom wanted to frame my undergrad and grad degrees for me as a gift. My mom and I met with Reilly, a custom framer at Michael's, and he was fantastic. Patient and extremely helpful with suggestions while still accommodating for what were were asking. We were there for over an hour and we never felt rushed or concerned that we were asking to many questions. I also wanted my graduation tassels to be included in the frame but wasn't sure if it would look right. Reilly showed us samples and gave us detailed pictures to show us how the final product would come out. Upon pick-up I was blown away at how beautiful they both came out. The contrast of my degrees with my school colors and how beautifully the tassel was draped in the frame. I could not recommend Michael's custom framing any more, so happy and excited that these will be displayed forever in my home....
