I took time to write this review because I'm also passionate about supporting local small businesses, and am very careful to not be overly dismissive based on a small negative experience is overall things went well. But here goes. I took my dog Peppa here for boarding over Labor Day weekend while I was out of town. Peppa is an ultra non aggressive Boston Pit, but she's extremely playful. I made sure to note two things on the intake forms, 1) monitor her playtime because she can go overboard and 2) she has sensitive skin and stomach issues. While she's there no one called me to give any updates, and I assumed that at a place rated so highly she much be doing great! The morning I was to pick her up I was contacted only to ask if I could come later. I said no because I had to work. The lady Manager said that was fine. I walk in, and she tells me my dog has had diarrhea twice over her stay!! I left her with special food so I thought that was odd, and it was also odd that no one contacted me, but I again, being trusting, thought maybe she got over heated while playing or something and perhaps it was mild. Then, she casually mentioned they had 30 dogs at the facility that weekend. That's a lot of dogs but I again assumed they monitored her because that's what a reputable place does. I take her home, and notice a giant long scratch on her leg. I immediately contact them, sending a pic, the owner calls and says he'll let me know what happened in the morning because the person in charge of her grooming at the end went home. A little odd I said ok, let's see how this plays out. The next morning, the owner calls me to initially try to blame my home for the scratch, saying "she said that didn't happen here". I firmly stated that it 1000% didn't happen at my house and to check again. He calls back later to say he's sorry but there's a piece of metal jutting out of the dying cage and that's how she got injured. An apology only, no offer of a concession or refund of any kind. I'm not one to ask either, I like for people to show me their level of ethical behavior. And since your first thought was to blame me, I'm not sure if that's even true or if the 30 dogs were to blame, but now I'm done with this guy, I checked my dog all over and noted that she's now also starting to break out under her fir. Looks like they didn't use sensitive skin shampoo on her! Honestly, this was my one and only experience with this place and after so many misses, I would NOT recommend anyone else go there if your dog has any special needs. Or...
Read moreHad no issues with the place at first. Had to complain twice about the same issue (leaving all the yucky brown all around my dogs eyes. First call I spoke with the owner, she apologized and offered to fix it and gave me a discount on the next visit. Next visit same thing happened. This time I spoke with the groomer. I thought we had a decent conversation. I asked what the issue was. Was my dog not staying still for her? Why were they unable to clean and clip around her eyes and get all the gunk out around her eyes? While speaking to the groomer we realized there was something written on the card that said not to touch the dogs eyes (obviously mistakenly written). Next visit went perfect now that we got that off the notes. Go to schedule my next groom and the owner had the nerve to call me to let me know that I have "stuff" written all over my card and that I have complained and complained and that my last visit the groomer was in tears. I had to inform her that my last visit went perfect so not sure why she would be in tears. Then she comes back and says not last visit but the visit before. Well that's odd because I thought we had a pleasant conversation and figured out what the issue was. Mind you I have complained twice about the same issue. I am paying $50 to have my dog groomed and on top of it a $10 tip and my dogs eyes looked as if she never had her head bathed. I did not know you weren't allowed to say anything to them. It's not like I complained about different things with each visit. We had one issue that happened twice and it got resolved. But the owner felt she needed to call me to tell me that I complain to much. Wow!!! Great customer service. I will be honest, everyone there has never been anything but nice to me and I feel I have acted in the same manner. Clearly I was happy with the place because I kept coming back! The owner just killed it for me. I couldn't believe the things she said to me. Would never bring my business there again. The owner needs to learn how to speak...
Read moreDO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! I drive by this place everyday and have been wanting to try it out. I called to make an appointment and was advised that the earliest appointment was 2 weeks out. No problem, I made the appointment and anxiously awake for Saturday. I took Jaxx in for a bath and a cut. He’s a 9 pound Pomeranian/Maltese mix. They told me that it would take 3-4 hours. And 3.5 hours later they called to tell me that he was ready to be picked up, but that they could only give him a bath, as he was attempting to bite. Even muzzled they couldn’t cut him. Unless they “sedated him”! I go to pick him up and noticed he’s half way cut. So I asked if she could try again while I was there with him. She said she could “try, but I’d have to wait for her to finish the dog she was working on”. At this point he’s been there 4 hours. I took my dog and left. This was my first and LAST time ever going here! It was a complete waste of my Saturday!
Update: So the owner replies to this, 2 years later and remembers exactly what she told me? LIES!!! There was NO mention of Richard’s calming whatever. My guess is, she’s now getting paid to promote whatever this calming mess is. The only thing she recommended was that I come back at a later date. Very disappointing that they would wait 2 whole years to reply with a completed...
