Negative Stars. This store is a nasty cluttered mess. Who I am assuming is the proprietor of this establishment was very rude and unaccommodating. She yelled for one of her employees to check the hair braiding isle. Mind you I'm in the hair braiding aisle. Then she herself makes her way over into my aisle. Now the aisle are crammed and very disarray, I could barely fit down the aisle without bumping into product, product hooks and/or boxes. I was looking for a specific color that I didn't see so I asked for assistance I was ignored several times before a customer who was walking directly behind the owner told her I was trying to get her attention. The owner then turns around slowly never acknowledges me or the woman (also a customer) who tired to assist me. She walks very slow in my direction never lifting her head as she looks at her phone. At this point I'm just going to choose another option so I begin to go back down the aisle. Only then does she say yes yes who needs help. I ask for the color and type of hair but before I could finish she cuts me off. I just get another color and head to the register. Despite everything I was still going to purchase. Another customer was checking out and trying to ask for a product but the owner was on her phone and never responded. When it was my turn to check out she kept the same negative energy and questioned my license credential dates, location and source then tried to make me feel better by giving me a partial Cosmetology discount. I decided not to purchase after I was followed, ignored and chastised while trying to dig through, climb over, rearrange and push past product just to find what I needed. I was tolerated just enough to get me to spend my money. The target customer of this establishment is black and we deserve better. Don't just throw product out for us to dig through. Be courteous and kind because it costs you nothing. I would strongly encourage everyone to find another business to spend your money with this establishment should be shut down not only for her ignorant behavior and character but because it's a fire hazard. I will be filing a formal complaint...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve lived near this beauty supply store for years, and honestly, Iāve always hated giving the owner my business. The only reason I shopped here was convenienceāitās just two minutes from my house. But no more. Iām embarrassed to admit that Iāve personally witnessed this woman display mean-spirited behavior and racist tendencies, yet I still supported her store out of convenience. She seems to think that putting a few brown faces on staff and blasting gospel music makes her āone of us.ā Let me be clear: it doesnāt. This is just another tactic to secure the Black dollar, and Iām done falling for it. There are times Iāve seen ladies walked into her store and wasnāt even acknowledged, yet sheād keep a watchful eye on them as if they were planning a heist. The disrespect is blatant and undeniable. No sale, no āBOGO,ā nothing will convince me to patronize this store again. I hope the near future brings some real competition to this areaāenough to force her out of business. Sheās not part of our community, and itās time we stop supporting those who donāt respect us.
RESPONSE: I stand by MY review because it reflects MY personal experience. Regardless of when it was posted, the facts remain the same. My last visit to your store was nearly four months ago. When I entered, the female owner failed to acknowledge me despite making eye contact several times. After waiting for nearly five minutes, I decided to leave. Only then did she ask, āCan I help you?ā I responded, āIāve been here for almost five minutes, and youāre JUST now acknowledging me? No, thank you, and I wonāt be back.ā Additionally, Iāve witnessed her being disrespectful to the African braiders next door where I get my hair braided. My review is truthful, and Iāve shared the same sentiments with several former patrons who have had similar experiences. Judging by the recent influx of overly positive āreviews,ā it seems thereās been an investment in PR. However, many past reviews echo the same concerns about racial bias in this...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePoor customer service! I went in 10 minutes before closing & was greeted with "you have 5 minutes." No "welcome in" no "hello" nothing. The owner also did that to another customer that came in right after me. After telling him how rude that was to greet customers that way, the owner began shewing me to the door & trying to turn off the lights. Will be sure not to shop here again, especially since there's a black owned beauty supply store right down the street.
UPDATE After reading the owners review, I went back in to shop and see if I'd have a different experience. The entire time, he stood at the front of the store, arms crossed, not speaking/greeting anyone, watching two huge screens of all of the customers in the store, I'm assuming to make sure no one was stealing. It was giving prison guard watching inmates. All I could think was, "why have a business tailored to a type of clientele that you don't trust or respect...black women." That being said, I'll reiterate, there's a BLACK OWNED beauty supply store 4 minutes down the road called Queens Boutique and Beauty Supply 2365 Powder Springs Rd...
