His sailboat Prima Stella is lovely and the sailing is relaxing and invigorating with memorable sea views. We saw playful dolphins all around the sailboat and a show stopping sunset. This is perfect for date night, for foodies or a photo shoot, and for entertaining clients. The vibe is chill yet professional and entertaining. Captain Matthew is exactly who you want at the helm! He's serious about sailing, funny, personable and reassuring the make sailors of all experience levels feel safe. This past Saturday (9/17/22) I went out on my third sail with Captain Matt and Old Plank Sailing Adventures. I can't speak highly enough of the entire experience, from beginning to end.

Captain Matt is extremely responsive, offering detailed instructions on arrival, items to bring/not bring, costs and the payment process. Upon booking, he sends out a text with detailed instructions - the humor injected into it makes it a really fun read!

Upon arrival, Captain Matt will greet you, allow you to use the restroom at the Marina before leaving, and, like a gentleman, will carry your bags to the boat. Once on the boat, Captain Matt allows you to play your own music on his speaker, asks what you'd like to drink and tells you to settle in for a wonderful few hours on the water!

Captain Matt's service is impeccable - from getting drinks, to making his delicious snacks, to even helping those who might begin feeling sick out at sea. Our group was never left wanting or needing anything.

For anyone looking for a relaxing time out on the water with great service and an excellent Captain, don't bother looking anywhere else other than Old Plank Sailing Adventures. You won't regret it, and I can't wait for my next sail with...

Perfect experience with the incredibly personable Cpt. Mancini aboard the Prima Stella!

Think: you're on a private charter aboard a gorgeous hand-designed & hand-crafted sailing yacht, surrounded by beautiful gem-colored water that's set against a backdrop of the sprawling skyline along the coast of LA and surrounding areas. and accompanied by an experienced, engaging, and knowledgeable captain/host/guide

My husband and I came down to LA from Northern California, and, the night before we booked, decided to try find a nice way to spend the next day's early afternoon before we attended another event. Cpt. Mancini was remarkably accommodating, flexible, and feasible.

During our 2 hour, private sail, Cpt. Mancini pointed out creatures and locations of interest and described his sailing experiences between sightings. He was very amenable to questions from us and also asked a few of his own.

The Prima Stella is a gorgeous, hand-crafted vessel, no qualifiers needed.
