Very clean and well organized store. The prices are marked higher than the prices you would see elsewhere. I had a rewards discount coupon, so I said to myself with the discount that at least I will be saving a little bit by not having to pay the full price that's marked on the shelf. At checkout, the item rung up for the price on the shelf, but a discount was applied before I had them use my rewards coupon. The recipe stated the item sail price was something different than what the item was listed for. With my rewards discount applied, I only had to pay out of pocket less than two dollars. I studied my recipe closely to see what had just transpired. Now, don't get me wrong, I was very thankful for my savings. What I don't get is why was the item on the shelf marked higher than what it rung up for? The item was not marked on sale on the shelf. If it's to show how great a deal I received or how much I've saved, there's a chance that I would have never known. The reason is that I budget shop a lot. I compare pricing from store to store what items are listed for. You know, like what Home Depot ,Menards, Lows, so on and so forth. If Ace prices are listed higher than the competitor, but in actually are set to ring up cheaper or at least competitive. How would a budget shopping person know this ? They don't and they won't , so they wind up driving past Ace Hardware to someplace else whose price reflects what they see and can determine whether or not they want to spend that amount. If listed that it's on sale even the better. If you see customers come in, but leave out without the item they were shopping for, it could be the price on the shelf pushed them to continue shopping around. In actuality, if the price reflected the true cost up front, many people would decide to spend the little difference in pricing for convenience sake than to be pushed on because of...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this location for years. I arrived today at 10:00 am and the store was not busy. I got to the checkout line with my items and realized I’d left my coupon in the car. I asked the person running the till if I could grab it from my car. He could have said no, or he could have asked if he could hold the items to the side while I ran to get it so that the one person in line behind me could check out. But I instead he said “ yes, be quick please because I don’t know how long this is gonna take me”. I obviously wasn’t going to take my time. I’m not a rude person. I went quickly to m car which was right outside and grabbed the coupon and was back within about 30 seconds. He finished checking me out and then apologized to the person behind me for the wait. There was no wait??? Like it would have taken the same time as if I’d had one or two more things to check out? It’s not like I left for minutes and dragged my feet. It was awkward for me and the other customer who wasn’t bothered at all. The team member’s name was Zachary. I’m sure this was just a one time issue because I’ve never had a bad experience at this location before. But geeze Louise what an unnecessary...
Read moreI needed to get a couple spare keys made for our cars. The older key was no problem but the newer key, I assumed required the dealership to make since its contained the anti-theft chip. The Ford Dealership was going to charge me nearly $300 and needed my car for 1/2 a day to do the work!
In passing, I mentioned this to the Ace Hardware employee and she very politely told me they could do it! She took my information and within 3 days, I received a call from their GM, Joe, who told me he had my key and when I could bring the car by for him to do the work?
On the morning I was free, I stopped by in the 98 degree heat and with a smile, Joe had me all set up in the store to make the key and out on the parking lot to program it to my car. Within 10 minutes I was back on the road to work!
What was even more amazing, was the entire cost (including a new battery for my key fob that they put in for me) was less than hundred dollars before tax!
Amazing! Go by and see your local Ace Hardware. You will not be...
