As a Travel CNA who had stayed at ALOT of different Motel 6ās across the country, especially for simple overnight stays before getting back in the car to finish driving to my destination⦠This had to be the WORST Motel 6 Iāve ever stayed at.
The gentleman that initially greeted me at check-in after 4pm, was very kind and answered all my questions, respected my request for no housekeeping due to traveling with 2 CATS (keep this in mind) and my husband. Immediately walked into our room with the FOULEST smell of smoke and urine any person could Endor. Open minded, literally took perfume, car air freshener, and coffee grounds to cover the smell. Easy fix, especially driving 48 hours/4 days to get here and having no energy to fight about thisā¦
Fast forward to waking up at 6:30am the following morning, my husband found 2 COCKROACHES. 1 dead and 1 alive! I didnāt even second guess looking for myself, because I already see the dead one⦠I go up to the front desk, same gentleman that checked me in, I asked about the refund policy and explained why, and he politely asked for me to wait 30 minutes until the manager came in so I could talk to her.
Waited till 7a.m. Before returning back to the desk and talking to the manager, but had to inform her that āwe wouldnāt be able to check out until this evening because my husband and I had new hire orientation at one of the local hospitals and canāt leave them in the car alone for 10 hours.ā Didnāt realize she checked us out at 7a.m. without issuing a refund email/notice at the time.
Fast forward again to 4p.mā¦.. Husband and I went to go and grab our cats and anything else we left⦠LOCKED OUT OF THE ROOM. Turned around and went back to the desk, poor gentleman was absolutely confused because we greeted one another with positive attitudes, to now not and confused as to why I was checked out, wanting back into the room, and is also scared for his life that our cats were potentially MISSING. He let us into the room, spiritually reassured that our 2 cats and their stuff was still in the room, safe and sound. He kindly gave us space and let is peacefully leave with no other complications.
Moral of the story: they have roaches, stunk of cigarettes and urine before we got there, locked us out of our room, held our cats captive from us, charged 2 nights instead of 1 (pEr PoLiCy).
Motel 6 Maryland Heights, MO: -2/10 for not including āroach rentā in hidden fees. Amr from Hotels.com Customer Service: Deserves a huge raise for getting me my refund and $50 OneKey cash toward next hotel stay AND unintentionally receiving my rude comments (despite this being part of their job, to de-escalate and resolve these types of issues daily). Would recommend them for any issues...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3 STARS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICES - AWESOME and GREAT LOCATION Off the highway! Not best condition but if you want to stay with people that are serious about serving their guests, give this place a chance. As I made my way to the Motel 6 in Maryland Heights, MO, I entered one evening a sweet lady Danielle, with greeted me with a smile and a peppy attitude. She saw on my face exhaustion. I told her who I was, and she immediately knew my situation. We had a pleasant conversation. I knew I would like it there because of the employeesā cheerful attitude. When I requested that I be put in a room nearest the front desk because of my solo status, she quickly obliged. But when I saw the room and where it was, she was very empathetic and put me in a room above the front desk on the 2nd floor. She was exemplary in her accommodation and attitude. From giving me extra fresh sheets, to extra towels and making sure I was ok, I knew I would like to stay there even though the rooms werenāt the best and not as renovated as the other Motel 6 in Hazelwood, MO. (DONT STAY THERE...THEY ARE RUDE) I knew Mr. āJesseā had send me there to get back at me for challenging his inept judgement in the way he treated me. But I was going to make the best of a horrible situation. The next morning, when I went down to the front desk, I met a sweet young lady by the name of Valerie and another front desk clerk of east Indian descent (?). They both were in a festive mood laughing and just being nice to me. I felt very at ease with them. I informed them of my status and wanted to say hello before I left for my day with my invalid mother. I went to the lobby microwave to warm up some left overs and Valerie quickly jumped up to clean the area for me. Talk about service! I was so at ease with her that I told her my horror story about the other Motel 6 in Hazelwood, MO (DONT STAY THERE if THERE IS BAD SERVICE) and how can you guys here at Motel 6 Maryland Heights, MO be so warm, thoughtful and helpful and in the other Motel 6 in Hazelwood, MO where the accommodations are more updated customer service be horrible!?? Motel 6 Maryland Heights, MO have exemplary customer service, attitudes and a "can do" work ethics. They are about pleasing the customer despite improvements and remodeling growth. Once everything is finished this motel will be a model for all around...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe hotel was nice looking but that's because it's not a typical Motel 6. If I remember right it used to be a Days Inn or something like that. The problem with your hotel is that nobody enforces the rule of law. Meaning I have a 3 year old daughter and a wife who we traveled out of town and we need you to stay 3 nights. We chose your hotel because it looks nice online but when we got there the entire Lobby reaked of marijuana and you had people something music outside in the parking lot and of course the person behind a desk who was a young Indian gentleman did not seem to care but was more worried about what was on his phone. It's sad that I couldn't even feel safe being there for those 3 days where I had to have my gun out and ready to go at any time in case somebody were to mistake when I try to enter our room while high on marijuana or drunk and stumbling through the hallway screaming at 1 in the morning. If it wasn't for the fact that there is no control over the hotel with rampid marijuana use and screaming and yelling alcoholics it probably would be a better Hotel. I think next time I'm going to spend the extra $100 and stay at a different Hotel it's not worth saving the money if I have to sleep with one eye open. To be fair the room was comfortable meaning the bed and the pillows which is not very typical of a Motel 6 because typically the pillows suck but they were very good this time. The bathroom needed some updating because the drainage in the tub was rusted and looks like mold. So overall I would not recommend this particular Motel 6 to anyone. Oh yeah I forgot to add there was a wire hanger on the floor next to the bed completely visible when you walk in that did not belong to us as well as a few pieces of trash on the floor like wrappers for candy bars and stuff. Oh yeah and one last thing our window was unlocked meaning that it wasn't slid all the way closed but just enough to be left open to look like it's closed but it was not. Which I think maybe somebody did that on purpose to wear if nobody noticed they can come in later on and slip through the window. Took me a minute to get it to close by once I did I did not notice anybody around that spot. That's another thing that made me feel...
