Writing regarding recent experience with the Kroger Pharmacy located in Maryville, Tennessee.
I was subjected to unfair treatment and an unjust reckless behavior, which has caused significant distress and inconvenience.
I had contacted the Kroger Pharmacy on three separate occasions via phone to inquire about the reason behind the refusal to fill my prescription. Unfortunately, each time I reached out, I met with evasive responses and was unable to obtain a satisfactory explanation for the decision taken by your pharmacy. Consequently, I decided to visit the pharmacy in person to seek clarification.
During the visit, I spoke with a junior male pharmacist who, without any legal authority or valid reason, insisted that he would not fill the prescribed medication unless I agreed to fill an unrelated medication?! It is important to note that this requirement is not only unfounded but also contrary to the principles of ethical and professional conduct expected from a licensed pharmacist and against state and federal law.
When I informed the pharmacist that I had transferred the unrelated medication to a different pharmacy, I was met with an inappropriate and unprofessional response. The pharmacist, seemingly hurt by my comment (I disliked the pharmacy and he was to sensitive to be a pharmacist) ,refused to refill the medication that had been prescribed by my doctor a full ten days earlier!
Denying a patient their prescribed medication based on personal feelings or perceived offenses goes against the fundamental duty of a pharmacist to prioritize their patients' well-being.
This conduct displayed by this pharmacy is not only unprofessional but also violates my rights as a patient. It is imperative that every customer stay away from this pharmacy until:
Kroger Executives takes appropriate disciplinary measures against the pharmacists involved in this incident, to adhere with professional standards and the safety of their customers.
Executives shut this location down to avoid harming customes with reckless behavior; by implementing necessary training programs and legal guidelines for this pharmacy staff to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, patient-centered care, and adherence to legal and ethical...
Read moreToday--Saturday-- I was in the Kroger in Maryville, TN, next to Foothills Mall, late afternoon. My granddaughter needed to use the restroom so we proceeded to the Unisex bathrooms next to the Pharmacy--which is the only restrooms indicated by signage in the store. There are two unisex bathrooms--one was "out of order" and as we were standing in line for the other, a worker came up and placed a sign on the door that stated "out of toilet paper." Are you kidding me?? In a grocery store which has one whole aisle dedicated to paper products?? When I commented that the other one was out of order, she said we could use the ones behind Starbucks, which is on the opposite side of the store. Frustrated by this lack of care by the employee, and the fact that my granddaughter was in distress on the way to the first bathroom, we hurried through the store to get to the other restrooms which are not marked and hidden in a hallway behind Starbucks. Going into the women's bathroom, there were three stalls--two of which were occupied--so my granddaughter went into the handicapped stall. While I waited, a lady came out of the middle stall and the next person in line started in and the exiting person said that there was no toilet paper. Really. The exiting lady went to wash her hands and there was no paper towels in the dispenser. She went over to the wall where the log showing when the restrooms were last serviced and it was yesterday. Now this is Saturday, three weeks before Christmas, and the store was packed, and the bathrooms were sorely neglected. This Kroger store is a new flagship store. I can't believe this is the best Kroger has to offer. It really doesn't make me want to buy food in a place where the bathrooms are dirty, unkempt, and the employees are cavalier about the lack of toilet paper or paper towels for the use of the customers who are then walking out and touching the food and carts and everything else in the store. As we were leaving the store, my husband talked to an employee and she seemed concerned and said she would tell the store manager. This is not the first time I have had this experience with the bathrooms in this store. Normally, I will not use the bathrooms because the bathrooms have not been serviced several times I have been in there. This...
Read moreThe pharmacy absolutely sucks. I have some sort of issue every single time I go there. This time I was lied to 4 different times in the same transaction. The biggest lie of the 4 was giving me a total when accepting the payment but giving back less change than what is due because there is "tax" on the medicine? Well, then you should have given me the correct price tax and all before you take my money, don't change the total after you collect payment. You also don't tell the customer you will call them when it's ready and not do so, or tell them you will accept a certain coupon when they specifically ask before filling the prescription and then not honor that. You also don't tell the customer you are giving them a 90 day supply and when they pick it up there is actually only 88 days. The specific coupon I had from good rx was for 15 tablets of 7.5 mg for $11.20 and for whatever reason they said it wouldn't work because I supposedly gave them a prescription for 120. It doesn't matter that the pills will be cut according to dosage, it shouldn't be charged that way, it is supposed to be charged by the pill not the amount of days it will last. I'm pretty sure now that I've had time to process it after being so upset from being lied to 4 different times I believe I was not charged correctly. I should have just asked for the prescription back and taken my business elsewhere but, it's too late now. It's not over though because I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau for being cheated out of my money and not being given the prescription as written. Also for extremely poor customer service. It is never acceptable to lie to a customer in this situation. Emilie needs to be coached on giving the correct price before collecting the money, not after giving back the change and then saying "oh...
