I was happy to find this place that didn’t need an appointment and they said they were happy to cut my dress and I could just walk in. I felt relieved seeing all their tailored photos were of suits that they agreed to take my dress. The staff were super friendly, made me feel welcome and comfortable. The man said he will gladly cut my dress (fabric and tulle), it was his idea to cut the tulle under the fabric since it would show if the fabric was cut. I also asked if they are able to steam it, he said they will press is. Wonderful I thought. However the day of pick up, I called to ask if my dress was ready and they said it wasn’t and that I had to come the next day (one day before the event) which was fine but it made me wonder if they forgot about my dress all together. The day comes for me to pick up my dress, I asked my husband to get it since I was not able to. Come to my surprise the dress was not pressed, if anything it was wrinkled even more because it was twisted up and bunched up. This made me super upset since I had to now steam it myself the day before the event and I have no experience steaming gowns. (I did not do a good job steaming it) To make things worse when I tried the dress on, the cuts of the fabric were uneven and the tulle was showing a lot on one side of the dress. I've been working with Nelson for a few years now and he's been super great work with on a number of suits, sports jackets, and shirts/ties/pocket squares.

I was a walk-in for my first visit, looking to get a new suit fitted for post-Covid return to office and I had a great experience. I ended up getting 2 additional dress shirts on that visit and afterwards Nelson and I stayed in touch.

Since then, I've gotten another suit -- a color caught my eye and I asked Nelson if we could look at some books and see if we could find something close that he could order. We found a Super 150s that ended up being a great material and color match. I've also picked up a sports jacket, a winter overcoat, and (I think?) three additional shirts, as well as a few ties and accessories here and there.

Nelson has been super easy to communicate with and he's flexible with time and can rush turn-around if necessary. I've seen him during normal business hours as well as early or late on a Saturday and even a Sunday, once. He has a great eye for style and color suggestions, too! I'm sure I'll be getting another piece...

Nelson is a master at his craft. I have been going to him exclusively for the last 6 years for all my tailoring needs; adjusting my work pants/blazers, formal dresses, etc. So when it came time for my wedding, I knew I'd be doing my dress alterations through him. My wedding dress was ordered through a bridal store in North Jersey, I picked it up and brought it straight to Nelson for many alterations and he did an incredible job. He always knows what I need/want before I even say it. He is a true master and perfectionist, and he really focuses on every little detail. He did an absolutely incredible job on my wedding dress and reception dress, and I highly highly recommend him for all tailoring needs. He also made my husband's custom tuxedo, my brother's custom suit, alterations for my mom's dress, and my dad's tuxedo as well. We are a loyal family!!
