Starbucks — Restaurant in Matawan

I guess beggars can't be choosers, but I just now showed up and bought a $5 latte and asked Lori at the counter if I could possibly borrow a sharpee marker for a few minutes. She picked up a cup full of pens and markers, showed me sharpees and said they are like gold at the store and each employee has their own, so I cannot borrow one, but I can go buy one at a nearby store out on the highway if I want to. I didn't raise any objections. I just said thanks, but I realize this was a really disappointing moment as a Starbucks fan. I understand Starbucks is not an office supply store. And in a big city Starbucks you couldn't lend everyone pens. But this is a little (seemingly friendly) suburban Starbucks with a cup of pens right there. I routinely visit at least 4 diff Starbucks locations as I work in Bk and Queens, and visit my parents weekly in Staten Island. This is my favorite and by far the best Starbucks I have been to. There is a crew of employees (weekday mornings- Blond middle-aged woman, tall thin young white woman with short hair, and Filipino male manager (I think he’s Filipino)- these people deserve a raise, a bonus, and a promotion. Not only does the coffee always taste excellent (which is almost never the case is the other Stabucks), but they are the quintessence of customer service. WENT TO "STARBUCKS" FIRST TIME,, "MERCURY" GRAND MARQUIS,, TRIED 2 ORDER MEDIUM COFFEE AND DONUT THEN THE WAITRESS STARTED LISTING THINGS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE,, NEVER HEARD OF IT,, TOLD HER TO "SPEAK UP" IN A KIND MANNER BECAUSE THOIGHT I "MISSED" SOMETHING AND SHE REPEATED,, "COFFEE LOTTO" NEVER HEARD OF IT EITHER,, I SAID I WANTED A LARGE COFFEE AGAIN AND FINALLY I GOT ONE,, NO DONUTS UNREAL,, GOT CHEESE DANISH FOR ME AND Sheryl Helms THANK YOU WAITRESS FOR "WAITING" ON ME OLD MAN,, NEVER BEEN TO "STARBUCKS" CRAZY PRICES COULD HAVE HAD SUPPER FOR WEEKS!!
