Pure Sugar Brazilian Wax - MATTHEWS — Local services in Matthews

I’ve been coming here for several months now for sugar Brazilians and underarms . I’ve tried different people over the months. I will say, each person is very different. The more seasoned ones are just amazing at waxing. They make sure to get EVERYTHING and are not hesitant to do so.

The more “novice” employees, I have had to go back home and shave the rest of the areas that were missed. I get Brazilians and it’s just frustrating to have to go back home to shave the rest.

If you have an appointment, be sure to verify if you want sugar or hard wax. She used hard wax on me when I made an appt for sugar wax. Let me preface, she was nice the entire time.. I didn’t realize until I made a comment how much I like sugaring more than hard bc I don’t get rashes. Well, she said it was hard wax she was using 😳. I almost cried. She asked if I wanted her to stop. I didn’t want her to stop! But she should’ve offered to do the rest with sugar wax instead of stopping completely.

She was nice overall, but I was crying on the inside. I also cried on the way home. My skin is just sensitive and doesn’t do well with hard wax. I usually bruise or the rash just won’t go away for days, and it burns and itches. Something I just don’t want to deal with. Sugar waxing is so much smoother and softer on my skin, I can literally workout hours later and have no issue.

Anyways, they only took off $10 and apologized. I could tell she was disappointed in herself for the mixup. Which I get. We are only human. I’m not really upset with her bc I have made mistakes in the customer service industry before. But I am crying at the same time haha.

Just make sure to verify the services you want and HOW you want it. If you want ALL of it waxed or leave a little.

I think it would be beneficial if the employees would verify all of this before performing services to prevent misunderstandings or mistakes.

This wasn’t my first time getting a sugar wax but was my first time at this business. The inside of the facility is very clean and nice. It smells amazing. I was pretty nervous as I hadn’t kept up with my previous waxes at my former place so it’d been awhile since I’d had the service done. Paola was very sweet, reassuring, and talked me through the process step by step. She worked quickly and talked to me the whole time which served as a nice distraction from the discomfort. I took one star away because there were several small spots of hair left and it was waxed unevenly at the top. For reference I just got a bikini sugar wax. She told me to check and make sure I was happy with the job before I left but I couldn’t see the leftover patches or unevenness without a mirror. I noticed once I got home. I also had some severe bruising on my inner thighs for about 1-1.5 weeks after the wax. I’ve heard that this can happen because the skin is sensitive/new to the process and/or because the waxer isn’t keeping the skin firm enough. Either way, it wasn’t painful but didn’t look great. I called back and spoke to Paola about my concerns. She gave me some home remedies and tips, assuring me that this is common with new clients, especially those with sensitive skin (which I do have). Overall, my experience was positive. The business is very nice and clean and staff are professional and knowledgeable. Paola made me feel safe and comfortable and did a good job on my wax. Next time, I will be sure to check more closely for left over hairs and unevenness. I will also ask if she can keep my skin more taught to avoid bruising....

This was going to be my first Brazilian wax ever. I scheduled a "sugar wax." The front desk worker was nice, but was coughing up a full lung. I felt so grossed out. I am happy I had my own pen.

I got in the room. The esthetician was professional and lovely. However, she was giving me a regular wax, and not the sugar wax I scheduled for. I was unaware of that. In addition, she was new. She was going over the same areas, and now I am red and sore, but still have stubble. The manager said "You can wear a bikini." Okay, tell HIM that. Wearing a bikini is not why I got the Brazilian. Now I have to walk around like a porcupine for four weeks. Dear Lord, please let me make it through.

I did not give a 1 star because again, my esthetician was a sweetheart, and remained professional at all times. The scheduler messed up. This was supposed to be a sugar wax with a more experienced worker. I should have never been on her table. Also, the location was very hygenic. I give them credit for that.

I won't be returning... ever! My first time probably won't be my last time, but I won't be back here. I respect my lady parts too much. It was not the experience I signed up for. $45 NOT well spent.

Please excuse me. I have to go soak in Epsom salts, and figure out how I can survive with this Wolverine blade bikini area for the next month. I am...
