Wow, speaking for groundless radical racial discrimination, this one library and South regional/morrison had benchmarked benign innocent Asian population past few years. STOP TALKING OVER ME FROM THE BEGINNING AND LEARN SOME RESPECT INSTEAD OF STUPID TEAMUP COLLABORATION TO INCORRECT HOSTILITY AND VENGEFUL THREAT AGAINST MATHEWS AND CHARLOTTE RESIDENTS. PUBLIC library should NEVER discriminate individual unequally unfairly when their police MADE an obvious mistake that I do not live in this Matthews library service area while MY ADDRESS IS ACTUALLY 'Matthews'. A male librarian and the female double standard library managers(matthews, morrison, south regional) impatiently antagonistic toward individual or minority please GET THE FACTS OF THE SITUSTION CORRECT FROM BOTH 2 SIDES THAT SHOULD MATCH RECORDED WORDS AND REPORT IF AT ALL, EACH TIME SUCH CRAZY IMPATIENT ANTAGONISTIC LIBRARIAN WHO CARELESSLY USES SURFICIAL WORDS "MA'AM", "SIR" INSTEAD OF NAME I TOLD HIM/HER, WITHOUT LISTENING FIRST AND LET ME FINISH MY SENTENCE AS I LET YOU FINISH...
Read moreFirst time at this library and was pleasantly surprised to see how big and active it was on a Saturday morning. Came for their Paws to Read event. My son picked out a book to read to a volunteer dog for 15 minutes. It was very cute and nice for him to practice his reading with a furry friend. They have a teens section with a bunch of young adult books, activities, and games to play with. I do see they have a lot of events during the week also so I will be checking those out. They have plenty of parking spaces around the library and side street parking. We will be visiting a lot more often during the summer. All employees are super friendly and...
Read moreThis library is way too small and underfunded for the community it serves. There are often long wait lists for the most popular books and resources. The last several times I’ve gone to the Matthews library to check out a book I had to wait over a month for one to become available. I’m not talking about some rare book with only a few copies in print, these were popular books with millions of copies in print worldwide, just not here apparently. Both times I ended up ordering the books on Amazon for less than $20 and they arrived at my house in a few days. Perfect example, for one particular resource I am currently #45 on the waitlist for 25 available copies. Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is quickly becoming irrelevant...
