I am not sure where to begin with this experience. I could go on and on about how amazing Patrick was to work with and how communicative he was during the entire process. So personable and sincere in his love for his art. This piece was inspired by his grandmother and when I first saw the original on IG, I was immediately drawn to it and spontaneously reached out for a custom one just like it...it reminded me of my grandmother :) So for this reason alone I will always cherish this ring and appreciate how it came to be. It traveled from HI to TN very quickly and was packaged sustainably, which I really appreciated. Maui Greensmith was such a gem of a find! I happened to pass through Makawao Market on a beautiful, rainy Maui day after our family visited Haleakala. I was so glad to have found it. My sister and I met Patrick and learned a lot about gems that day. Patrick took the time to answer our questions. I left with a beautiful silver, larimar cuff that day. It's a beautiful handmade piece that reminds me of Maui's beauty every time I wear it. I've since had Patrick make me a custom ring with a teardrop labradorite set in copper. True craftsmanship and what an eye for all things bold and unique. I've received so many compliments. Thank you Patrick!! I have lived in Maui for about a year and a half, and Maui Greensmith is, hands down, my favorite jeweler/artist on the island. I always make sure to stop by Patrick’s booth at the Makawao marketplace to see any new goodies he has, and for a great chat with him and his partner. I usually end up leaving with a new piece each time! He has a great eye for pairing gems with different upcycled metals in beautiful designs, and I own quite a few rings and hair pins from him. I commissioned the jade ring in the middle from him, which I asked to be made adjustable and gave him artistic freedom, and he rose to the occasion with a beautiful custom design!
