EDIT to owner's response - No need to imagine anything. We walked up and stood there waiting, he was in the middle of making a sushi roll. His cell phone rings. He picks it up with his hand (no secret washing out of view), and puts it to his shoulder to talk. He continues making the roll with his dirty hands. That phone could have been sitting on the floor of public bathroom hours before this. That phone is disgusting - 100%. Find a better way. Do not touch your filthy phone and then touch the food that I'm going to eat. No wonder people get sick. Don't eat here. Apparently the owner is completely ok with this - just breathe. ------- Stopped 1/31/24. One guy working the food truck. Menu looked great and we were excited to order. We walk up - he's busily making rolls. The phone rings, and he grabs his cellphone with his hands and answers it. Starts talking and continues to touch and make the sushi roll by hand without putting on gloves nor washing his hands. I'm not a germaphobe, but grabbing your cell phone and then putting your hands back on the sushi roll and rice? That's disgusting. That's what we saw, so I'm sure if he thinks that's ok, then he isn't doing much else to be sanitary. We quickly turned around and left. People need more of a sense of being sanitary. It's not that hard to wear gloves when touching food and then take them off when you're done if you need to touch something else. Or continually washing your hands. We are putting that food in our bodies. We didn't get to try it, but I definitely wouldn't try it until they can figure out how to make things sanitary and safe to eat. Grabbing your cellphone that's been EVERYWHERE is not sanitary. Everybody would agree to that.

Update: in response to the reply, which was very poetic, I am warning other vegans about what they're getting into. They know the game, you don't, which is why you should listen to me that I even bothered to say anything at all, because you have potential: we care about the animals. We are aware that there are meat eaters who are trying to profit off of vegans by overcharging when the ingredients cost less. Your exploitation permeates from your taste in food through how you deal with your customers, especially the ones like myself whose existence proves you can do better. YOU can taste more. YOU can have more understanding. YOU can have more compassion. I dropped you a star because you didn't even bother to try to accept my feedback. If I thought your dish was absolutely tasteless and not worth a single dollar I'd give it 1 star. I ordered two of the vegan hand rolls. Unfortunately, there was little flavor and substance (protein) to them, probably because the creator isn’t vegan themselves, and they cost $8 a piece. I heard they have other vegan items on the menu so I’ll be returning to give those a try and update my review accordingly. The ingredients were all fresh, the rice was well done and the seaweed was crispy, but the design of the rolls isn’t suitable or appetizing to vegans.

We'd been eating our way through Maui all week and we came here on a whim because the place we were originally going to have lunch wasn't taking walk-ins. For me (I can't speak for the rest of my family), this was the best meal I had during our entire trip. We all had different things and opted to share. The fish was great. You can't go wrong with any of the handrolls or poke bowls if you're into seafood; I recommend the fresh Marlin. However, the thing that stood out for me was, oddly, the Ramen bowl. My son, is a finicky eater. He's in that "no veggies" phase so when the soup came, we had to walk back up and request a kids' noodles and broth; which left the original Ramen bowl for the rest of the family to share! I loved it and ended up eating most of it! Next time we're on Maui, I'll be ordering the Ramen along with my handrolls!

Well, I hate to leave a review like this. I can't even speak about the food here. What I can speak about is the unwelcoming nature of the business. While out on a mountain bike ride with friends we stopped here so that some of us might peruse around an do some shopping. There was seven of us whom all had a bike. So we parked them in front of Satori's. I drew the short straw and had to hang back to keep an eye on them while the others went their separate ways to do their shopping. There was one other person eating in the outdoor eating area. The rest of the area was being unused, so I decided to take a seat. I was there 3 minutes and was told the space was for paying customers. So not really having much of a choice decided I would buy something. When I reached into my back pocket, I quickly realized I had given my wallet to my wife for shopping. I then stood off property for the next 30 minutes waiting for my party to return. The short of this story is, I want to support businesses that are more welcoming to potential client and perhaps offer sanctuary to passersby. There was 7 of us in our party and another 13 back at the resort. I will make sure they all know the way this place feels about anybody or any patrons who don not make purchase. Thanks for the...
