I am originally from Maui and was there on a visit. My father took me to Sip Me because I was hoping to find some primo Kona coffee to bring back to the mainland. The space was very clean and the atmosphere was comfortable. The staff were friendly and polite. We had a very positive experience overall. Unfortunately they only carried 3 types of packaged coffee for sale and one of those was an excellent Maui Mokka which I of course purchased. Speaking as a visitor and former local I gotta say they could have squeezed at least $100 out of me and even more repeat business from my local father if they just had their numerous empty shelves stocked with something.. Coffee, mugs, grinders.. Anything.
I own a consulting firm dealing strictly with marketing and sales. Here's some free advice and I mean this with nothing but good intentions because I adore Maui and the people. You have a beautiful shop in a prime location..
Stock your shelves and entry table with goods and merchandise, lots of it. Hire an outgoing attractive woman or use the beautiful, kind girl you already have at the register. Spend a few days training her. Make sure she is knowledgeable on coffee, bean size, how it was roasted, etc. Pay her minimum wage and offer 5% - 10% of product sales as a commission depending on whether a sales goal was met. Place her at the door and have her greet every customer. Have her ask discovery questions. Look up what this means if you don't understand.
I am telling you, follow these 5 steps and you can thank me very soon when you have a business pulling in revenue hand over fist.
Nobody is going to argue with someone who knows what they are talking about.
Most importantly NOBODY should be walking out of your shop empty handed. People need to be helped, and influenced with what they want and what they don't know they want yet in most cases. All you have to do is ask questions and lead them in the right direction with a positive personalized experience.
You have a great place. I will return next time I'm in town.

Read moreWhile Visiting Maui, we decided to take our friends to Makawao upcountry to check out this beautiful little town with many cool shops to see and fun places to eat and drink.
We had an early morning and knew that a good cup of coffee would perfectly hit the sweet spot.
Luckily we found this delightful little gem, tucked in the back behind a couple of shops, VIDA by Sip Me Maui.
As we walked down the alley to find the cafe, we found a wide selection of outdoor tables for seating to relax, enjoy your coffee or other beverage and enjoy one of their delicious fresh baked goods. They also had nice seating and tables inside if you want to hang out and get some work done or read a little before heading out.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, took our order quickly and made it exactly as we ordered.
The coffee was great and they have tons of cool specials. They even had a special Thai cold brew coffee that looked fun and the person in line ahead of us got it and reported that is tasted great.
While hanging out at their outside table as we were greeted by a nice family of chicks and their mother and most likely the papa too. 🐣🐥🐓
Not only do they serve coffee, they have some great treats for health and wellness, cool stickers and keychains. They also had a cold case with canned refreshments to enjoy if you want something cold and fresh on a hot day other than an iced coffee.
Super glad we made the detour to check out this great coffee shop and look forward to our next visit to stop in and have a yummy coffee. ☕️
Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope you have a nice delicious and relaxing treat here at VIDA by Sip Me Maui.
Mahalo and Happy Island...
Read moreSip me? Well, ok - I will, and boy am I ever happy to have followed those simple instructions, prompting me to order a large hot morning beverage one fine morning in Makawao. I'd have to say out of all the cafes I've tried on island, Sip Me is the freshest. Not just in the drinks department, but the pastries and treats as well - you can tell they were all baked fresh and with love. The clean atmosphere and bright decor is a nice touch. The outdoor seating is a great place to enjoy the fresh air as you sip your coffee or tea, but sometimes upcountry is cold, especially in the mornings - so the inside is a great place to have your meeting to go over the final plans on your yoga website or the cottage addition you are having built on the property you inherited. If you thought there were enough cool events being advertised in the front entrance, check out the bulletin board in back for a doorway into the local insiders haps and shin.digs going on in the neighborhood.. always something cool going on in Maui , and Sip Me is one of those places to coordinate, get yourself connected. And this review would not be complete if something wasn't said about the wonderful employees/baristas who hold it down at the front. It can get busy here because it's so good, but the experts behind the counter know how to hustle and they ensure the wait in line is never too long. Go...
