I surprised my guests for my birthday to Chef Yakabouski’s AMAZING culinary talents.

Each course was amazing and fresh and a piece of extreme art and talent. Chef was friendly and let us bother him and ask questions as well as explained in detail each item he presented to us.

His beautiful assistant Kirby was delightful and so professional. Safe to say none of my Birthday Ohana had ever experienced anything like this before.

Chef came out to our lanai and presented each course and explained each ingredient and dish and the intention of his culinary creations.

So thoughtfully orchestrated and BEAUTIFUL.

Chef Matthew is absolutely a pleasure to chat with, friendly, funny and absolutely a stellar professional..

Having grown up in a family with a restaurant, this was such an amazing experience to have gained in seeing someone so amazingly talented preform his work our condo’s open kitchen.

Chef presented me with a lei for my birthday that I’ll cherish forever. Our setting was pretty casual as it was a surprise for the guests that joined me to celebrate my birthday.

This was a total “Top Chef” experience without the annoyance of Tom and Padma critiquing oddities. They would’ve been amazed anyhow too.

The widely publicized 101 things to do in Maui should be updated to 102 to include a Chef Yakabouski experience.

None of us make it out alive, so you should absolutely splurge on one of a kind experiences such as this.

Truly a birthday I’ll NEVER FORGET! The absolute best meal I’ve been privileged to have eaten.

The “little” extras Chef Yakabouski and Kirby extended to my Ohana were thoughtful and above and beyond.

This is the second time we had Chef Matt come to our lodging to cook a meal for us while on vacation in Maui - both times were an absolute treat! Chef Matt is professional, efficient, and a master of creating dishes which are as delicious as they are beautiful.

In our most recent experience, we enjoyed (devoured) ahi poke lettuce cups, filet mignon bites, gray snapper, and a homemade chocolate cake with homemade ice cream. Each dish was spectacular on a standalone basis and the meal flowed beautifully from one course to the next, as each dish brought a beautiful new flavor profile. Chef Matt’s refined cooking style is evident as there’s always something special in each dish. He uses local products, and you can taste the freshness of the food in every bite. He is also incredibly efficient and had cleaned and packed up by the time we finished dessert (the kitchen was spotless).

Chef Matt is a master at his craft. It felt like experiencing fine dining from the comfort of our own home - a spectacular and luxurious treat. We had a 4 year old and a 1 year old with us, and it was such a treat to have fine dining with the two boys being able to play while waiting to eat. Chef Matt thoughtfully prepared some of the dishes to be ‘kid-friendly’—and we were thrilled the boys also devoured filet mignon, fish and dessert with us. We hired Chef Matt and Kirby for the 2nd time on our last trip to Maui. When they arrived to our villa it really was like greeting old friends. They are both so warm and accommodating which is a large part of the experience for me.

The food was absolutely exquisite. While we wanted a similar menu to the last time we were served by Chef Matt, I had also left it in his more than capable hands. Starting with Kirby setting up the table in preparation for our meal, we were blown away with the marinated soy flank steak and pineapple appetizer and a caesar salad that tasted better than any caesar salad I have ever eaten. The entree of macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi on a bed of Molokai sweet potatoes was to die for. The warm apple bread desert was an amazing finish to the meal. Everything was so fresh and prepared so well. I cant say enough good things about not only the food, but the overall experience with Chef Matt and Kirby.

We have eaten at some of the best restaurants in Maui as well as top restaurants in the US and Europe and I can say without question that the dinner experience with Chef Matt is by far the best meal(s) I have ever had. Im greatly looking forward to our next experience with him and I cannot...
