Ryan was a fantastic surf instructor! He made sure to conduct our lesson at the best location possible. He was very professional and patient with two people who had never surfed before. He gave us great instruction and before the end of the day we were both riding waves all the way near the shoreline! Surfing was a big bucket list item for my wife and I so having proper instruction was very important. Ryan helped us achieve this goal very quickly. He was very kind and provided interesting conversation in the times when the waves weren't great. If you're new to surfing or are looking for a local who knows the surf in Maui you won't find anyone better than Ryan and his company! I've had a few surfing lessons before Maui and Ryan's is hands down the best one I've had. I had limited time on the island and it was a very windy day but Ryan accommodated me on a short notice and took me out on the water in the south where the wind was pretty minimal (blocked by mountains I think) and had no other surfers!!! It was the best just having all the waves to yourself! Ryan was very observant and great at setting me up and pointing out the specific areas I should work on to become a confident surfer. My family of 5 with kids age 6,11 & 14 took a family lesson with Ryan and it was unbelievable from start to finish. We were on a cruise and only in Maui for a certain amount of time and he was very flexible and had great communication prior to arrival. Gave options and recommendations on everything to make the experience top notch. While out in the water he was very patient, encouraging and overall awesome. The 6yr old was the first to ride and crushed it! All of us got up (it was our first every attempt at surfing) and it was a blast. Would highly recommend and give 6 stars if possible!
