We enjoyed our dinner at Miagros Food Co.
We didn't have to wait long to get a table. The hostess was friendly. Our server was also very friendly and attentive without being too intrusive. Everyone at the restaurant were friendly and they appeared to work well together.
The restaurant was clean inside and also outside in the outdoor dining area. The decor is what you expect for a Tex-Mex restaurant, but it was very tastefully done. You can tell this is an older building, but it is maintained quite well.
The restrooms are buried way in the back and up several steps, but they were easy enough to find. They were clean enough but they were out of paper towels when we visited. Admittedly, the restrooms are in need of a refresh as they felt more like they were in a gas station and not in a restaurant.
The food portions were large. The Taquitos were a great starter. They had just the right amount of flavor. The grilled Mahi Fajitas were good and were served with black beans and Spanish rice. The Mahi was just a tad over cooked, but it was still more than acceptable. The chicken soft tacos were quite large and had good flavor. They were also served with the black beans and Spanish Rice. The chicken was also just a touch overcooked and a bit chewy, but it was still enjoyable.
We recommend Milagros Food Company if you're in the mood for Tex-Mex and are in the Paia area. The service is great and the portions make for...
Read moreNot very customer oriented. I asked to order the black bean nachos as a dip with the chips on the side and was told it was not possible without bothering to ask. I have worked in a restaurant for numerous years and know for a fact things can be put on a bowl and topped with cheese then put in a salamander to melt. Very disappointed with this place, bartender is uncaring and short with guests.
Although my friends decided to stay, I choose not to eat. After my friends were given their food and had a few bites, ROACHES were noticed. We calmly notified the waitress and her response is, it's an inside/outside bar and it's roaches are common. We were given the bill for everything and could not understand since most of the food was not touched. After informing the waitress that we would pay for the liquor only. The bartender made a snide comment about it's common roaches are here and if that's the way we wanted we can just leave. Her ride attitude is bad for your business and needs to be addressed. She tried to cover up by saying she was busy and she didn't mean for it to sound as rude as it sounded, she meant that if we felt as strongly as we did she didn't want is to pay for anything. That was her trying to save herself. I don't believe her and I hope this review teaches out and let's people know the atmosphere that your are promoting with her working the bar or if she is that busy, then she needs more staff it she needs...
Read moreWe wanted to try Milagros for dinner after eating at Paia Fish Market across the street more than once. I had high hopes due to the reviews it’s received, but was it incredibly the opposite of good. We started out sitting inside because it was chilly outside and after 20 minutes of sitting inside, a German roach ran across the wall behind us! After seeing that, we obviously wanted to move tables and our appetite disappeared. We brought the roach incident to the bartenders attention and she said “it’s Hawaii.” A bad attitude. Not something you say to a customer! We finally ended up moving to sit outside. The food was less than mediocre. Chicken quesadilla looked and tasted horrible. Guacamole not fresh. The enchiladas were ok, definitely have had better. This place looks to me like it’s just based on drinks because the food was not even close to good. The roach experience was terrible as well. I know there’s roaches in Hawaii, but we hadn’t seen a single one anywhere else. Especially not a restaurant. Not something you want to see where you’re going to eat. Ignore the good reviews and spend your money somewhere else. (Try the delicious Paia Fish Market across the...
