Extremely lackluster experience. Went for a color consultation with a mid-tier stylist that had decent reviews and good pictures to back up her work. I have naturally very dark brown hair, but I have been going to a family friend for bleaching/root touch ups and trims. My hair is currently 85% light blonde and my roots are grown out about an inch or so. I knew the blonde was uneven, and with my natural color I knew it was going to be a long and expensive process. I had a few pictures of what color and style I was going for, but it felt like the stylist did not agree with any of the color choices I had. She showed me a few swatches of colors that were close, but not what I wanted. She quoted me at over $300 for bleaching my hair, cut, and color. I emphasized that I wanted a silvery blue color that was more silver than blue, but she gave me a few different explanations of why I couldn't have that color. I explained my current process and told her of the work I currently put into my hair to achieve that color. She maintained her stance that it wouldn't "look right." I was upset, but decided I still would give her a chance. I saw a few other darker colors in the same book that I liked, but when I asked if those could be done she kept saying that the colors would look "muddy." I pointed to three different colors and she responded with the same answer. I was very disappointed, but I understood that perhaps her skill level wasn't where it should be to attempt those colors. Still willing to work with her, I told her that if she couldn't get the silver-blue color, no big deal. I asked her if she could cut and bleach my hair anyway and go without the color. I don't like to make assumptions, but her attitude toward me changed when I informed her I wasn't comfortable proceeding with coloring my hair, as I didn't like the colors that she kept trying to push on me. She eventually did a test strip on my hair to see how it would lighten. I sat for about 20-25 minutes before she washed the bleach out, after which the stylist informed me that she "couldn't" work on my hair because she "let [the bleach] sit for a long time and it only lightened to a caramel color." I did not expect my hair to lighten to the precise blonde color needed on the first try, as I know my hair is naturally very dark. I anticipated even multiple sessions to get to the desired color. I felt I was being extremely realistic and understanding, therefore I wouldn't have minded if she needed to put in the extra work. However, the attitude I received from the stylist was the equivalent of her throwing up her hands and shrugging. I was hoping for at least a recommendation of where I could go, or perhaps a recommendation for a more qualified stylist. I left extremely disappointed and I will not be returning. Also, their seats are not comfortable so be prepared if you have a long...
Read moreUpdate : since I canât comment back I showed a full 4 min video of the cut and how to do it, I should a video and a photo for reference, the stylist never asked how long I wanted the bangs she turn me away from the minor and kept cutting, after she cut she turned me around and ask if I liked it I said no I didnât, I even asked if I could go to the bathroom to compose my self bc I was crying âŚ. I came back and she was like what do you want me to do I asked if she could fix it and she asked me how , I showed she the picture yet again and was annoyed that I wasnât happy with it I was crying in the chair and she pushed me off bc her next client was there , I told her how unhappy I was I made it very clear and she asked what I wanted her to do , itâs said that the salon doesnât take ownership in there employees mistake , but instead is saying the client was at fault when a video and reference picture was taken I had chunks of hair missing I asked for a long shag cut that was explained in detail by another hair professional, the layers were not blended instead had a 2 - 3 inch drop off ⌠I know what I asked for and I was not given it, my review did not leave out any key details, what I showed never changed mid appoint and it wasnât 3 times to try and fix it it was once she asked me for directions and how to fix her mistake, Iâve had my mind set on this cut for months so no it wouldnât had been changed mid appointment, the only time the stylist asked if I was okay with something when she asked on the dead ends to be cut, I havenât had my hair cut in a year so I knew what I wanted and I did my research hints why I had a 4 min video that the stylist did watch, so no no details where left out nothing changed mid appointment everything had stayed the same bc itâs something that Iâve want for a while if the stylist was unable to do the cut she should had clarified it at the beginning of the appointment. She did not want to fix it and she didnât know how to fix it âŚshe made it very clear her next appointment was more important then fixing her mistake
One of the worst hair cuts Iâve ever had, i actually started to cry in the chair bc it was not what i asked for at all, i told the stylist i was unhappy with it i had a reference picture and video, she kept Asking what I wanted to do and i kept referencing the picture but she had cut it short and didnât want to fix it, she rushed me out of the chair because her next client was there, still paid full price for the cut even though i was far from happy, i went to another salon to fix the mistake not only were the bangs awful, there was zero blending in the layers, i had random chunks of hair missing i lost 2 more inches of length to fix her mistakes, everything was blunt cut, all around not a good experience and would not recommend , I will attach a reference photo I should and...
Read moreYesterday I came in to see Emily for a new consultation. She was very accommodating to my work schedule, we had rescheduled more then a few times to get to yesterday. We did the consultation and discussed my hair routine, goals and things I didn't like about my hair. She suggested a few foils and an all over color. The appointment went fine and my hair looked normal. Nothing extravagant. I have been getting my hair colored for over 20+ years and about fell out of my chair when she told me my total. $327 dollars. I have never in my life paid this amount for foils and color. Never once did she discuss the pricing to me, ask my budget or opinion of the cost. At any time!! just the total at the end that was absurd. Now, my hair is just below my ears and very thin I feel there is ZERO reason to be charged this amount!!! This amount with out being consulted about it along the way!! I would have never agreed to this or even may have changed my hair plan. I am still IRATE!! very...
