Hawes Florist — Local services in Maynard

My wife was on the East Coast on business, and I wanted to send her some flowers. I originally went through AVAS Flowers, and although their representative promised me every day they would get the flowers delivered, three days went by and my wife had no flowers. I canceled my order, and found Hawes Florist. A very pleasant sounding woman answer the phone, and I explained to her my situation, detailing what I was looking for. Within three hours, they had delivered a magnificent bouquet to my wife. I had a wonderful experience, and I will absolutely be ordering from them when she is back on the East Coast.

Update: a month and a half later, ordering more flowers for my lovely wife. They not only had all my information on file, but remember talking to me a month before! I visited Hawes last Friday to provide a nice pick-me-up for my wife after she had a challenging work week. I'm inexperienced with florists so I just dropped by to see what my options were. Melissa and her staff were patient and helpful, they guided me with a few questions to determine the occasion and budget and they took it from there. Even though I was a walk-in they graciously made a nice arrangement for me in 30 minutes.

The arrangement itself was beautiful and they really hit the tone I wanted with the flower selection. What surprised me the most though was the fragrance! My entire car had the scent of fresh flowers by the time I got to my wife's place of work. I don't know how you could surprise someone with a bouquet like this with the flowers announcing themselves even when out of sight!

I don't think I will bother trying any other florist, as it seems I've hit the jackpot. Next time I'll be more considerate...

Called on Saturday (day prior) to order flowers for Mother’s Day for my sister who lives locally. Knowing it was probably too late, I tried anyway. The woman who answered the phone (owner?), let me know that it was too late for delivery, but that they had curb side pick up orders that could be purchased. I thanked her and let her know that I would do that except that I live in CA and wouldn’t be able to do that. She then asked me what the address of my sister was and said that she would take my order and get flowers sent out by 5PM on Mother’s Day. Amazing!! I agreed and was very surprised to hear from my sister that she got the flowers within a few hours. The flowers were beautiful! This business went above and beyond when they didn’t have too.
