Super weird experience going to this location yesterday with my son and husband to see the Garfield movie. We bought a large combo and less than five minutes after purchasing it, I accidentally dropped my drink on the ground. The whole thing. All of the contents were expelled onto my pants, shoes, and the carpet. I went to the counter to notify staff of the accident, and to ask for a new cup, since all of it...the cup, lid, and straw...had laid on the ground. Whoever that lady was behind the counter working yesterday afternoon seriously needs to get a life and a brain. She told me I could keep the old cup and use it, or I'd have to purchase a new one. I reiterated that I'd JUST purchased the cup and wanted a new one because the one I had was dirty. I offered to throw it away in front of her so she would know that I wasn't trying to score a free drink for anyone else. She said again, you can keep that one and refill it, or you'll have to purchase another cup. I was mind blown! What kind of customer service is this?! My family and I were good, paying customers just asking to not have to use a dirty cup. I told her a third time, I don't want to use a dirty cup! I literally just paid for this one, I will throw it away and I need a clean cup. She huffed off to the office and I could see her speaking to someone through the doorway before she came back and gave me a new cup. I even said thank you, though I wanted to tell her exactly what I thought of her ignorant attitude and ridiculous nonsense policy. That wasn't enough for management though. It didn't stop there. Apparently they resented a customer demanding mediocre service SO badly, they continued to harass us throughout the movie, walking down the aisle to where we sat, eyeing us, then moving on, like they had to keep close watch of us. Once, I had my feet pressed against the back of the seat in front of me(no one was in it) and they told me to get my feet down. I get that's not exactly respectful to do that, but I've done it 25 years and never once been told to get my feet down, and I think they were just dying for an excuse to come after us. The whole experience was really weird and just baffles me still. I will never go back here again, and it's a shame because I've been a loyal customer for so long. I'll happily drive to morehead or mt sterling now to watch a movie, and with better accommodations anyways. And seriously, if this business reads this, I know you deal with all kinds of rude customers, but don't punish everyone for it. I was nice and embarrassed when I had to admit my accident and ask for a new cup. You ruined our movie experience, and going to the movies should be a fun, safe outing for families. Grow up a little and maybe consider raising your standards for customer service. I can't believe offering a replacement cup was so hard for you...
Read moreTHE STAFF YELLS AT LITTLE KIDS AND KIDS WITH DISABILITIES! My autistic 7yo granddaughter was yelled at by theater staff today for touching the seat in front of her though kids behind us were acting up and screaming. She really wasn’t doing anything wrong or disruptive. After getting yelled at she cried and is now traumatized - emotionally hurt and afraid to go back to a movie theater. There is NO situation where yelling at a little child is professional or necessary in a public setting. Even after brought to their attention that she is disabled, they defended their actions and asked my daughter and granddaughter to leave. We will never return to this theater due to their treatment of a disabled child and their bad attitude toward those with disabilities, or children in general. I refuse to support this kind of...
Read moreI recently went to the cinema which I love and was discouraged when an extremely rude staff member yelled at multiple people (including myself) over absolutely nothing. Once she yelled at a young girl over being on her phone during THE ADS. Then she yelled at a couple for requesting tickets for a movie that was being shown in 20 minutes. I would suggest that everyone avoid this woman. She wore no name tag, but was an overweight woman in her 50s with poorly bleached hair. She made mine (as well as the people accompanying me) have an unsatisfactory movie expirance. I hope Lucas Cinemas improves their staff, because I hate to see a lovely community place turn into such...
