McAllen location - I have always loved coming to this shop, and I still believe it is a beautiful shop with unique items! Despite that, I did have an unfortunate experience today, while shopping for a birthday gift. The customer service was definitely lacking. When I approached the register, there was no greeting, just silence from both cashiers that were attending me. As the items were being scanned, one of the cashiers opened one of the items I was purchasing and proceeded to look through the box. No warning, no informing me…just proceeded to open the box and rummage through it. Once she was done looking through it, she proceeded to close the box up, but struggled to close it and ended up asking another cashier for help in closing the box. I was listening to the struggle but assumed they were able to get it taken care of. As I get to my car, I looked into the bag to inspect the item I had purchased, and lo and behold the box was in fact not closed, and now the box was bent and the top of the package had been ripped. I rushed back to the front of the store in hopes that someone would help me, but they refused to open the door and just kept shaking their heads “no” from afar, since the store had just closed not even a couple of minutes. I came by for the first last week , it was my first time. I love how they decorated the Christmas trees. A nice young lady by the name Alyssa was telling me about an open house for Christmas the store was going to have the following day , and how I should stop by to see the sales they were going to have in store. I came the following day and the same young lady recognized me and told me she was glad I was able to stop by. I know it does not mean much to some people but I believe that is great customer service to remember someone. She helped me find some gifts for my family and was even able to show me the Taylor swift section the store has. She even let me know of the gift wrapping services the store offers which I appreciated. She wrapped my gifts beautifully. I will definitely be back to shop again. I come to this Mcallen location very often to send out mail and packages so this is not just this one time. I love this store for all the cute product, gifts and home decor but the customer service is just not as up to par as the store. So many workers standing around and not one greet(welcome), just stares as if it’s not a store. To top it off it’s always the same lady to process my mail, never EVER even says a simple “hello”, even after I say it first there is no response. Now there is a new lady and I feel like the lady that was there before trained her because just like her , no facial expression, looks miserable to be there, no greet, no nothing, just working to get me out of there.
