I was happy with the treatment that I received from the nurses and medical staff. They were knowledgeable, caring, and professional.
From the beginning, I had problems with the office staff. I was told that Medicare/Humana would not approve my treatment. As a result, I was 2 weeks late getting my treatment. I have had cancer for several years and had never had an issue with my insurances paying. I called Texas Oncology (âTOâ) many times to get this resolved. When they answered my call, they were not helpful and there were many times that the call was not returned. I also tried to reach the supervisor and was unsuccessful until an operator took pity on me and gave my message directly to him. âTOâ was not using the correct medical codes. I, myself had to call my Oncology clinic in my home state to get the codes. I was so stressed and frustrated that I wasnât getting help. Months later, I am still having issues. I apparently have a bill for thousands of dollars. When learning of this, I once again called my home Oncology Clinic and got the codes from them. My clinic asked why I needed the codes so I told her. She said that they had never had problems with my insurance paying. The person at âTOâ that I talked with didnât sound willing to take the codes, but I insisted that she did. Then I received a call from âTOâ saying that they didnât approve. They told me that I would have to call my insurance and discuss the bill with them. However, they go according to codes that are provided to them by âTOâ. So naturally, it wonât help me to talk with my insurance. I have been to other doctors, clinics, and hospitals and have never had insurance not pay. ONLY TEXAS ONCOLOGY. I canât begin to tell you how stressful and...
Read moreIâm a patient of Dr. Litam. I had a scheduled video consult with him earlier (8/10/2021) at 10am. I logged on to the tele-medicine app that the clinic provided, however, almost an hour in the video room, still the doctor was a no-show. I then called the clinic to find out whatâs happening and the medical assistantâRosalinda could not give me a reason why Dr. Litam did not show at my scheduled video visit with him. Rosalinda then spoke to another assistantâCarla, who then told me that my schedule was moved down to 11:30am. I asked them why didnât they notify me of the change in my schedule. They couldnât even give me a reason why. 11:30 am came, still, the doctor was a no-show. I then called back the office at around 12nn to find out whatâs happening. After a long back and forth with the people at the front desk, my call was eventually transferred to the scheduler, Sylvia (who was courteous and professional) and was surprised herself to discover that my scheduled tele-medicine did not go through. I found out that the staff squeezed in another patient on my schedule without letting me know. This is just an example of how the system of Texas Oncology McAllen sucks. Most of the staff are inefficient and the doctors have no compassion to their cancer patients. I have never done a Google review but my bad experience with this clinic keeps on piling up which prompted me to write this review to warn others. If the clinic wasnât in network with my insurance and for my monthly injection that I still need to have for a few more years, I would not come to this place. Such an awful system with a lot of...
Read moreWorst patient care. I was referred because of an abnormality in my blood which could possibly be leukemia. A little background i suffer from compression syndromes, chronic pain, fatigue and many more symptoms which make my body be in constant pain day in and day out. Due to my health conditions breathing properly is a problem which wearing a mask exacerbates my breathing and causes me dizziness and faint. Which is why I can't wear a mask but at least I try to comply by wearing a shield. After registering, after sitting in the lobby, and after taking my vitals and medical history the nurse tells me that the doctor will not see me without a mask and they will call me for a tele health consult. Again my body is in constant pain and getting out of bed is not an easy task for me much less drive and sit in a cold lobby. If the doctor knew that the visit could be done through tele health why do they force us sick people to come into the office. Why didn't they make the appointment a tele health visit from the start? I will not risk fainting and risking my life while wearing a mask to possibly protect others from a virus with a 99% survival rate. Not to mention, if masks work then sick or scared people wear two masks so us people that can't wear a mask stop being harassed by health care professionals that made an oath to do no harm yet they told me wear a mask and risk your life or we won't see you. You all should lose your license for turning...
