One God forsaken man just told me to shut up because I was calling about an order I paid for. I am certainly making a complaint to BBB cos I don't understand how I pay for something and then you say you have been calling me cos it was no longer available. How do I drive over an hour to pick up an order I paid for only to hear BS. You guys are not serious!!! Don't bother placing an order with them!!! Worst experience I have had in a while and guess what, this is what Nigerian businesses are known for. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NASTY AS S HUMANS!!!!!! Owner: if you like your business please change those nasty people there and the guy that told me to shut up would not give his name!!!
Update: So you want to talk about profanity? Your said manager told me to shut up and hung up on me. He said he called the number on my order to tell me you no longer had kilichi. Funny thing is, we weren’t late for pickup and it was still listed as available on your website when I placed my order.
Clearly, you don’t have well-trained or respectful staff working there. I expect a full refund of $202.05 (the $180 for the order and $22.05 for tax) within 3-5 business days, or I’ll be reporting this transaction.
Whoever is managing your website needs to actually keep it updated. It’s ridiculous that it’s so hard to find a decent African establishment with a proper call recording system. But of course, I’m sure your staff will deny what was said, even though it was a 3-way call, so we all know exactly what went down.
Update: It's heartening to know that good people still exist. My friend reached out to the owner and shared what had transpired, and the owner personally contacted me with an apology. He informed me that I had been refunded and offered to let me pick up my order at no charge. He also expressed appreciation for my willingness to consider updating my review, though he acknowledged that it had been honest and organic (he said I should leave the 1 ⭐).
I was genuinely moved by his response and insisted on paying for at least one of the orders, which he graciously accepted.
Later, my friend picked up the order and relayed that the individual who had been rude to me had also offered an apology.
I sincerely appreciate the owner's thoughtful gesture and accept the apology from the gentleman who was...
Read moreIf you love horrible customer service, then purchase from them. HORRIBLE STAFF, HORRIBLE MANAGER and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Just got off the phone with someone else here who claims to be the manager. My husband and I have been long term customers of this place but the customer service here is HORRIBLE! In August, we bought 3 suya shawarmas ($51) and the suya was dry and hard. We called and asked to speak to the manager. The person who answered the call said he was the manager. We explained what the problem was and he initially said we should come back and get a replacement. We told him it was a long drive out from where we live and couldn’t because I was pregnant, tired and sick. He then said he would issue a refund. A month or thereabout goes by and my husband and I are reviewing our accounts and expenses as usual and then discover that we never got that refund. We drove to the place and my husband went in and asked to speak to the manager. He was then told to provide the receipt or proof of transaction which we gave to them. Then, they said they couldn’t do anything about it and that only the owner had the authority to issue the refund because their system does no go back far enough to see the transaction. This was after he had been there for over 30 mins. This happened 2 days ago. We expected to hear from them by the next day but since no one called, I decided to call today. I called and asked to speak to the manager who I first spoke to and was told that that person is NOT the manager. So, he lied about being the manager. We were told the person we first spoke to claimed that he only asked us to get a replacement and that he can’t tell who is lying between us (their customer) and the employee in question. We were then asked to drive down there (about 25 mins each way) to get a replacement. While expressing my displeasure about the POOR and HORRIBLE customer service, the manager ended the call on me. Your business is full of...
Read moreA Disheartening Dining Experience at Osumasuya
My recent visit to Osumasuya was, unfortunately, a disappointing journey through flavors that can best be described as sorrow mixed with salt.
Jollof Rice: The jollof rice seemed like it had been reheated far too many times, leaving it with a tough, chewy bottom. This dish, normally a staple of warmth and flavor, was instead a hard, joyless version of what it should be.
Asun: The asun didn’t fare much better. The meat was overly soft, almost mushy, resembling shredded beef that had been awkwardly glued together rather than the traditionally savory and tender asun.
Shawarma: The shawarma was a notable letdown. The meat was hard and tasted burnt. I acknowledge that my late order, about an hour before closing, might have been a factor, but it doesn’t entirely excuse the poor quality.
Suya: Then there was the suya. It was tough and lacked the essential flavors – no spice, no zest, just a hard and joyless chew.
A Glimmer of Hope – Kilishi: Amidst this disappointing experience, the kilishi was a pleasant surprise. It was the only part of the meal that I genuinely enjoyed, which highlights the unfulfilled potential of the rest of the dishes.
Concluding Thoughts: I had high hopes for Osumasuya, but the meal I received was a far cry from the vibrant, flavorful Nigerian cuisine I love and was expecting. The overall taste of the food was akin to sorrow mixed with salt, leaving me not just dissatisfied but genuinely disheartened. It’s my hope that this was an off day for the restaurant and not the norm, as there is certainly room for...
