I have been to this restaurant a good amount but I will not go here again after a recent argument I had with one of their regular waitresses about what I ordered. In fact she could be a manager as well as I think she is the oldest waitress there and I have seen her do other things beside waiting on tables in the past. To be clear, I am not upset about my order being incorrect, things happen and I get that. What has me upset is the manner in which it was handled. Upon receiving my order I kindly informed my waitress that I did not order this. She began to argue with me and give me a bit of an attitude about this after I said this is not the dish I ordered. In fact I was rather dumb founded that a waitress decided it was ok to react this way to a customer that said they got the wrong dish. After a couple of minutes of her arguing with me my coworker I was with chimes in and tells her he heard what I ordered and it was not the dish she brought out. She finally leaves and says she will get me this order. No apology whatsoever. I have never once, in all the restaurants I have dined at, had a waiter/waitress argue with me about what I had ordered, let alone give me a tone/attitude. All other places, I will get a sincere apology and the correct order. To make matters worse, this waitress tried to charge me for the dish that I did not order. I ended up grabbing a younger waitress (who was nicer than the other waitress that had been serving my table up to this point) that was passing by and had her remove it as I was done and just wanted to leave. Under no circumstance is it ok to argue over an incorrect dish being brought out then to try and charge them for it when it was very clear I did not order it. The have good food but any restaurant that thinks this is ok does not get my business. There are many other restaurants in the area and I would recommend going to another restaurant...
Read moreWe have been here before and food/service was fine. Since I am out of town, my wife decided to take the kids there because she didn't have the time to cook. What was normally a decent experience turned ugly very quickly. My wife ordered the kids meal for the children because the menu read that it included "sweets" at the end. At the end of the meal, my wife inquired about the "sweets".
Here are the multiple explanations she was given by the staff:
"This is an old menu. Sweets aren't included anymore."
When my wife expressed that she wanted partial compensation for what wasn't delivered on their menu's advertisement, she was told:
"We have had the "sweets" on order from Japan for a month now. We gave you a slice of orange to make up for it. This clearly was a lie. The orange was always part of the dish as a garnish. We were never told it was the dessert before.
My wife demanded to speak to the manager and was told she wasn't there. At this point, my wife became very persistent because she felt she was being blown off. She expressed that she didn't want to pay the full price of the meal because they didn't deliver everything promised. The staff member told her she needs to pay the full price. My wife again expressed her displeasure over the experience and the lack of customer service. Being Japanese, my wife also told them that she would never have experienced this type of service in Japan and then said she was leaving. The waitress replied "o.k. bye, bye!...go home".
When I return my last visit there will be to speak to the owner. For food, we will go to a real Japanese restaurant like Mikaku that is only 20 minutes away. For the exception of the New owner, the staff and chef are really Japanese and so is the service.
I am very...
Read moreIgnorance is bliss. This was my favorite place. One of my favorite appetizers is the Potato Shrimp. Recently when I tried to order it, I was informed the supplier is out of stock. It is a sad day when it is too hard to peel a potato into the shoe string and then wrap it around a shrimp and fry it. I wish that this was my only issue.
My second favorite appetizer is the Tuna Stack. Who doesn’t love Tuna. Well when I ordered it, it was much different than the previous times I had had it, and it did not have cucumbers like the menu stated. I looked through other photos posted, and the Tuna Stack has gone through many iterations, but I don’t think the menu has ever been updated to reflect the changes nor variations. This a BIG deal consider allergies. You can’t advertise one thing but present another. People can get sick or worse. Tuna stack this was not. There was more filler than fish. From what I could make out, tasted more like radish variant than pear.
I ordered the Super Rainbow Roll because it had double the fish. As you can see in the picture it just looks like a regular rainbow roll. Consistency and quality is lacking.
Lastly, when I arrived I was told I had to wait which is totally understandable. While waiting a group of four arrived and said they had a reservation. The lady at the front scoffed with a sound in response and then walked away. The group was eventually seated. When it came time for me to be seated, I looked around there were 6 seats at the sushi bar, 4 tables, 1 large table, and 2 booths open. In the time that I had been waiting, only 4...
