This has got to be the worst service and most poorly run imaging center in the area. I called to schedule an appointment for a diagnostic mammogram-not routine-diagnostic, and their first available appointment was 3 1/2 weeks away. I took the appointment since it was the first one, scheduled time off from work. The day before my apt, they called and left a voicemail saying my appointment was cancelled. When i returned the call. , they said they couldn’t do the appointment because they didn’t have old images that were five years old which were being mailed from another state. I tried discussing the importance of the situation and the importance of the appointment because of the lump i have, and the fact that the previous images were 5 years old. She said the appointment had already been cancelled, and was very short and rude with me. I am appalled that someone would be so nonchalant and short with a patient in this situation. The lack of regard is unacceptable
Update: About 15 minutes after i had my appointment cancelled and the disheartening discussion with the previous employee, Sandy from the Suntree office called me back and said I was put back on the schedule. Because of Sandy’s professionalism, and concern, I have raised my review from a 1star to a 4 star. Thank you Sandy for your understanding of...
Read moreFirst of all I would like to commend the front staff at UCI in Melbourne, they are friendly and knowledgeable. I am extremely frustrated with the unprofessional and dismissive behavior I experienced from the scheduling department at UCI. My physician ordered an MRI due to concerns about a possible blockage, with the clear instruction that it be completed prior to my follow-up appointment on June 27th. However, when I contacted the scheduling department, I spoke with an individual named Fifi on two separate occasions. She repeatedly insisted that the MRI had to be scheduled on the same day and at the same time as my doctor’s appointment, despite this contradicting the order and common medical sense. No matter how I tried to explain the situation, she refused to consider any alternative scheduling and maintained a rigid, unhelpful stance. I requested to speak with a supervisor, but was told no one was available. After spending over 20 minutes on hold and getting nowhere, I contacted another imaging facility and was able to secure an appointment within two minutes. This situation, which should have been straightforward, became unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming. Due to this experience, I will no longer seek care through UCI and will take my medical needs elsewhere...
Read moreI just got back from University Imaging at the Oaks, Melbourne. Everyone following all protocols. However, they front desk clerk made it her business to "instruct" everyone in the waiting room about her conspiracy theories. She said that 20 employees at UIO had tested positive and they were all asymptomatic, so clearly the illness was not any worse than the flu. She said that come November 4th, this whole thing was going to disappear and that only the people with preexisting conditions died, and they were going to die anyway. Considering most of the patients in the waiting room, are people with either preexisting conditions, or are trying to figure out why they are sick, it was extrememly disturbing. It upset everyone that she pretty much told us that our lives were not valuable and that we might as well hurry up and die. I do have a new hero. She was a 19 year old, with unicorn hair, who yelled, "that is enough! None of us want to hear any more of your BS".
I am simply unsure of how to deal with this. She is in a medical position and it is important that we do our best to pass on medically correct information, but it is way more important to not make ill people feel like they are no longer worthy of life. This behavior was...
