This is NOT an urgent care as advertised.
UPDATE- I had to call 3 times just to get his test result back after 24 hours.
I probably won’t come back to this clinic unless I absolutely have to. I took my son here for the “urgent care” at 7am as soon as they opened. It was my first time there and when I asked if this was the right place for urgent care, I got a super confused look like they don’t do urgent care here. The website literally has urgent care as one of their services and when you receive your L3Harris onboarding packet, it’s mentioned urgent care at that facility.
I was then told they could see him as a walk in and checked us in. Then I was told that the family medicine doctor didn’t feel comfortable treating a child and I would have to take him to another clinic. As I was googling another place to take him, the nurse double checked with the doctor (I believe it was doctor Schmidt) who said she would take him. I was pleased and our nurse was so fantastic with my son, but then the doctor came in and made a whole thing about how she hasn’t treated a child in 20 years and I should have taken him to a pediatric clinic (I’ve taken my kids to other urgent care clinics and never had anyone tell me this). She did an exam on him and was actually pretty good with my son considering she doesn’t treat children. Then she ordered X-Rays for him which we did immediately next store. She told us she would call in about 4 hours with the results after she was able to review them.
Cut to 7 hours later and I hadn’t heard anything so I gave the clinic a call. I was told the doctor hadn’t reviewed them yet and she would call me as soon as she had. Well I never got a call back. What is the point of calling yourself an urgent care and not even calling back with x-Ray results the same day? This trip was a waste of money and I’ll just have to take him somewhere else tomorrow.
I don’t know how their family practice is, but if you need an urgent care, use that term loosely with...
Read moreI almost put 1 star. I was so tempted. But this has been my place for medical attention for years. The new receptionists seem overstuffed but undertrained or unsure of what is appropriate representation for L3HFMC. It should be about caring about the health and wellness. Today addressing my issue in a timely manner was not a concern this afternoon.
I went through the call relay and then a receptionist answered the phone immediately telling me to wait. 10 minutes later someone new answers. That doesn't feel professional, safe, secured, or like my concern matters. Because I had to repeat the reason for calling. And start the whole script over again.
I call the Dr when I am not well. To get better.
The receptionists need to been given appropriate tools to solve issues on their own the first time.
All I am asking is to do the job you were hired to do. Otherwise, allow someone who knows how, to do it. And find a different field if it's not working out.
Revised: (I did edit my earlier post to make it more appropriate. I was angry with the treatment earlier.)
The director did speak with me like she said she would. We did discussed the issues. And I do believe that she will make sure they have been addressed.
I appreciate the time she took to focus and prioritize my bad experience.
And shout out to Jordin (a newer, professional, calm, assuring...
Read moreI'd like to compliment the supporting office staff at L3Harris FMC. They have always been very friendly and accommodating. Over 23 years as a patient there, it has largely been a great benefit for the Harris/L3Harris employees. The place just isn't the same post 2020. I love the Teli-visit option for certain types of visits even though I find it hypocritical that you were told you could not get medical advice over the phone and must come in for an office visit (charge) prior to covid. Somehow, they worked that out all of a sudden. Now, the doctors at this office are scared to see patients (including kids) with an earache and are forcing this "care" to teli-visits. Sorry doc, I want you to look in my kids ear when he has a bad ear ache to ensure there are not other problems. Dr. Chreiki is running this place into the ground. My family will be finding new primary care with the understanding that it is going to be more expensive and less convenient. I don't want to see any doctor who is scared of interfacing face to face with a patient that has a light cough, or a runny nose. Perhaps things will change in the future. I have spoken to many other co-workers who have become unhappy with L3HFMC...
