Sadly this use to be the nicest theater in Memphis but now it's stuck in time, run down, smells like urine in the 2 rooms we've been in. Almost every other major city has VIP theaters now and certainly has competition with a variety of brands to choose from such as, AMC, Cinemark, Regal, Studio Movie Grill, iPic, Movie House, Cobb, Rave... Just to name a few most of which have reservation reclining seats for the same price I pay to step back in time here in Memphis to ancient run down theaters that are 15-35+ years old. Paradiso hasn't been renovated since it opened in like 2004 I believe.

What's up Memphis? Why does every other city have choices but Memphis is held hostage by a movie company that is old and out of touch. Their website is the worst I've ever seen. It's awful and they don't have an app?? Insane

I visited some family last Christmas and saw a sign for yet another malco headed out to Fayette, the signs been there for at least two years saying new theater coming, still nothing... Other cities renovate and pop up new theaters in a few months. It's called competition, it's healthy and needed. I'm in shock that you guys don't demand more. The only time I have to go to an old traditional movie theater is when I'm in a small town and when I visit family in Memphis. You connect the dots...

I'd give it zero stars if I could.

VIP theaters explained: They Range from having amazing food bright to you by servers throughout the movie you can buzz them for a refill or something else on the menu. Or they offer higher end food you pick up on your way to your seat which is always a big comfortable recliner. The seats are always reservation regardless if you book online or just walk in, you pick your seat and it's yours. No more showing up wondering if you'll be on the first row or smashed in the middle with no room.

Memphis! You need to stop being a small town stuck in the 90's !!!

UPDATE: OH they are so proud that they have an IMAX lol didn't IMAX come and go like 10 years ago haha lol NO ONE CARES!!! You are stuck in the past. Hire some new people, go visit some cities and go to various theaters, TRY!!! Someone needs to look into why this is the only city with...

When it comes to movie theaters in Memphis, this one seems to have gone from first to worst in a relatively short time, badly managed with unfocused and seemingly poorly-trained employees. This past weekend my experience was so bad it was almost farcical. It started with experiencing false advertising and bad customer service when ordering food. The sign for their "grill" said ALL items on the grill menu except pizza are served with fried. I ordered nachos and after a long wait at the counter they were finally presented to me. I asked for my fries. The employee said "Yeah, the sign says fries but they don't really come with fries." I told him I ordered that item specifically because it said it came with fries. He was like "I'm sorry - no fries". I asked for a manager. He said "ok" and then disappeared briefly. He returned and rather coldly and smartassy set the fries down in front of me with no explanation or apology or anything. Flash forward to the movie itself, which was 3D. The audience reflected the bad element which has seeped into this Malco location. There was someone with a 3 month old infant in the row behind me. The baby was crying and cooing. I turned around and looked and the baby-mama shook her neck at me. I got up and reported the disturbance. The disturbance finally stopped. WHY DID MALCO ALLOW SOMEONE TO BRING AN INFANT INTO this movie??? Flash forward again. This was a 3-D movie and with about 50 minutes left in the movie, the 3-D stopped working and the movie went blurry for everyone. Someone finally reported it and it was fixed after we had lost about 20 minutes of movie time. I had NEVER seen a 3-D movie "stop being 3-D" in the middle of the film. How does that happen? Is someone not monitoring the movie while it's in progress? Also, they are not cleaning thoroughly between movies. There was dirt on the back of the seat in front of me where someone had apparently put their feet. This is not the first time I've witnessed dirtiness here. I will not be back. It's way past time for the Malco monopoly of Memphis cinema to...

I previewed a comment that said they loved this theatre and they have been going since a teenager. I also went to this theatre as a teenager and did not have the same experience. I am not sure it was because I was African American or young woman, but I was harassed at this theatre multiple times. They always went in my bag and purse. I was a poor highschool/college student. I thought it was mean and they would never let me enter the theatre if I brought dollar tree candy or a soda politely in my bag and would take it or throw it away in front of me. It was not until I was in my 30s that I discovered "No" other theatre in Memphis did this. Like .....I shopped around due to Paradiso embarrassing me for years. I went to Hollywood, I went Collierville, I went to malco majestic off Winchester... I went to Germantown, Power house downtown, and no one else targeted me....in the city of Memphis about dollar tree candy....just Paradiso.

If I could rewind the years I would call the police for harassment....just digging all in my purse like I had a gun. I was a 5'3 female 120-160lbs. I was apparently soooo threatening. (Sarcasm)...parents watch your kids at this theatre and report the managers and ticket attendants. You will thank me later. I remember telling my mom years ago and she was astonished and said they never went in her bag. They have discriminating vibez at the Paradiso and I don't need a refund. I will just go somewhere else as you should too.

In these days and times protect black and brown kids. I'm not trying to make it racial, but they not kidnapping little white girls and sex trafficking them. Its mostly Hispanics and black women who are harassed, kidnapped, sex trafficked, and targeted when some weird person wants to feel powerful. I was a pretty little 16 year old who would dress up excited about the movies. And I got embarrassed like 4-5 times over and 8 year span. Like it never got to the point where they stopped and its 2022. Watch how ppl engage your kids. Like no other theatre did this to...

Looking for an afternoon opportunity to take a break during the day and get in an action, drama, comedy...you get the picture - movie; well, check out the Paradiso's matinee and remember to get your popcorn, drink and sweet treats then kick back and enjoy the movie. I went on this particular day to catch Atomic Blonde, it was OK, I debated the merits with my friend as we discussed the differences between it and Salt...my preference. Honestly, either one, since they depict strong action oriented women are pretty good but for me, Salt was let's say a better format. The theater itself was nice this time of day and there wasn't much chatter so you actually got to hear the movie! Stop in and catch yourself a good movie and enjoy the friendliness of the staff!!!
