Wasn't sure what to expect walking in, but really love the overall cleanliness, decor, and the array of options for both vegan and non vegan customers.
What we ordered vs what we got was a bit different. That could be due to what's in or out of stock items, what we requested, or just a new employee taking our orders. (Example: I ordered the Silo burger that's made with beans and clarified no eggs were in the ingredients but got the portobello burger instead without any communication from the employees about why. Could be any number of reasons). My mom ordered a different sandwich then what she received as well.
The food we received was good, the mushroom was overcooked (or overheated) but the rest of the sandwich made up for it. Everything was delivered hot and I really appreciate what they're going for here.
My mom got a chicken sandwich that she really enjoyed. We also tried a cauliflower dish Cauliwings (that was made with what tasted like tabasco and neither of us enjoyed it, but we didn't carefully read the menu, so that may be our fault) and we tried the toasted bread with pico de gallo and avacado, it was good and fresh.
A little more communication could go a long way but I'd definitely go again and hope for improvements the next visit. Hoping a good thing becomes a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWith the way the world is moving toward bettering the body and sense of self through innovative food fusions and practices, City Silo Table + Pantry is a budded breath of fresh food for the health-conscience. Everything from their food to their drinks inspires that feeling as a kid exploring unfenced backyards and digging bare feet into the cool, soft soil of the family garden. The open windows on a late summer's afternoon allow for a the local air of the urban forest to leak in and add to the local, open-market feel of the dining room. The bar is a unique take on a staple of fine dining, providing earthy drinks like the Hot Chagalate, a ground mushroom and cacao brewed beverage. Reasonably priced food like the BBQ bowl topped with the beet burger patty bring value to what it means to filling one's stomach and an appreciation for ingredients that go from ground to mouth. I highly recommend visiting this fine-rustic restaurant for the food and environment. The only thing that will push this place to a five-star eatery, in my opinion, is adding growth and maturity to the young serving staff, instilling a better sense of what it means to serve and be sensitive to the guests and their surroundings, watching how they speak, what they speak about, and making the guest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this place but I often don't want to go because I don't want to interact with the manager, Crystal. She never goes out of her way for the customer. I eat here ALL THE TIME with my family, friends, and colleagues. Its no secret that City Silo isn't cheap. I love the food and pay a premium for it. However, whenever myself or another patron ask for something, Crystal always makes it seem like we are inconveniencing her, she can't do it or we need to pay more money. She's the only employee who does this. She makes the customer feel wrong. I work in customer service and I understand that the customer is not always right but it's important to make the customer feel like you want to help. I order the same thing every time at both the East Memphis and Germantown location and never have any issues...except for when Crystal takes my order. It's an annoying order, no doubt, but again, I pay a premium for it. She ALWAYS says they can't make the order. This is something I otherwise order with no issues... every week... from every...
